  1. Not many in my collection so here they all are, mainly taken at Doncaster in March & July 1993.
  2. Last of my cl.142 pics' from my collection, not good quality but maybe useful for someone for modeling purposes. For some reason i was reminded of these snowy pics' when i ventured passed Daisy Hill Station today. Daisy Hill Station. Westhoughton, Lancs' 7-2-'96. Wigan Wallgate. 7-2-'96. Wigan N.W. 1-8-'90. Ince Moss, Nr. Wigan. 22-12-'94. Warrington B.Q. Station. 27-6-'99.
  3. A few more old mag' covers from the classic days and some ad's which i always find the most interesting bits to read, with all those period useful and more than likely useless? ad-ons.
  4. I decided to use the two pieces of Wills corrugated cladding to make the roof for the re-fueling point last night. Looks like i'll have to spend money on proper stuff to detail it up a bit later on.
  5. They shoot Horses don't they? Racing Cars.
  6. A steamer would do it easy but i can't be bothered setting it up in that stuff....yet! Maybe later when i've had enough brews.
  7. Had an hour of fun in the Snow and Sun yesterday, there was'nt much progress with the batt' powered trains but i enjoyed myself and thats what it's all about!"
  8. Thanks Chaps! As for a great eye CME then read always 'skint and looking for owt on the cheap' Nice to find out that the years of trawling through the bins & skips for stuff to use on my garden line has put me in good stead for the indoor stuff to! I made a base for the storage tanks last eve' out of 5mm thick foam board, not sure whether to cover it in plastic brick card or printed paper yet? It's loosely based on the one at Springs Branch depot. The tanks were given a scraping with the back of a 'Stanley' blade and a rub down with some wet & dry, the un-used and un-wanted ladders off my 08' shunter can be used to access the top of the tanks and i'll make a walkway with some plastic bits off a kids toy plastic fire engine. With plenty of snow out there and more predicted, i might just get a lot more done on this project this week and over weekend whilst stuck indoors.
  9. This is not a love song. P.I.L.
  10. Singing the Blues. Tommy Steele
  11. A bit of progress recently in that i've been collecting a few bits and bobs from my local model shops over the last few weeks. Mostly it's second hand and bought for only a few pennies! The loco shed is a Peco '00' gauge battered effort which i'll fix & build up to suit 7mm gauge. The corrugated cladding is Wills which will make an office extension to the shed, the old '00' tanks will be chopped about to make oil/fuel storage and at ten bob each i've nowt to lose. The figures are i think are Slaters? They were sat on a station bench together and one was a Woman! But now with a Stanley blade and a bit more painting they are to be my diesel loco' drivers. A mock up of the shed using some 7mm embossed brick walling.
  12. Some of us go to North wales and pay good money several times a year to ride on seats like that, and a certain wife here buys wrecks like that as restoration projects.
  13. Many thanks for those Metr0land, it's saved me half a day of searching as the top pic' is just ideal for what i have in mind. Cheers!
  14. On the very last stall just before the exit door at the Macron toy fair yesterday i found this and bought it, i'm not sure if i got a bargain at £25?? but it'll be the one and only 16T wagon i'll ever need for my planned small 7mm layout. I might make a start on putting it together this week, after first choosing a real one to copy off amongst all the brill' pics' posted here.
  15. Some real ones to argue over about! Flat or not flat front i want a couple anyway.
  16. Hope it's OK and i can put this ad' here as well?
  17. Somethings gone wrong again. Buzzcocks
  18. Thanks for all the help and advice it's much appreciated, it looks like a big part of the garden and the hill is sinking away and not just my railway or its foundations, i think i'll only be plagued with the same probs' if i relay it all again. A friend came down yesterday and we found fresh cracks and breaks in some paving stones a bit further away from the edge and it looks like a fair chunk of the garden is sinking along that edge and in one corner! I've had visions for years of waking up in bed and floating down the brook down the bottom of this hill for years now The only way i can see is to move the line but i'm limited to get enough room to get the curves in. I'll figure it out, i'm sure no matter what i'll still have a garden railway somewhere even if it's smaller.
  19. Its hard to make out O.R. but this is the view over the fence down into the abyss You have something there Apollo! All that weight hangin' on the edge, it can't be helping things, i'll have another think about it before i do owt else! Years ago i did a dig on a Roman road in the Eccles area, this was across a what was obviously way back then a very boggy/swampy area and we found perfectly preserved twigs and branches at the very base of the road that the road stone, gravels and cobbles were laid directly onto....God! i loved that Hobby and miss it all now!
  20. Hope these help you a bit. I don't know what this old DMU was used for but it was parked up at Warrington back in the mid '90's. Would be a colourful and cheap-ish model to make i think! This sandite unit was at Springs branch Wigan in the mid '80's.
  21. No offense at all Edwardian! It's a real compliment to me, as that's the desired effect i strive for.
  22. Well a dry couple of hours today and quite mild temps for once, i got out and cleared all the Alpine plants and the soil out from all along the back of the sunken trackbed, the last time it sank i had to cap the original track beds foundation blocks off with two inch deep by six inches wide concrete edging slabs. It looks to have sunk about another inch and half right in the middle of the length, and it is'nt level from side to side and across the rails anymore. In the Spring and with better weather to come i'll lift all the track from the Chapel all the way along the back run right up to the signal box, and then i'll get the concrete edgings chiseled off and relay them on more thicker bed of mortar and or use some thin patio flags to build/pack it back up again! Some random pics' taken whilst having a breather, as usual the Dog won't leave me in peace.
  23. Just noticed that the wagons with the 08 shunter that i posted have slits/holes cut into their sides, any ideas what they were for ?
  24. Just about make a few out in this bad pic' taken at Ince moss Wigan. 08 395 in the early '80's. Doncaster works and the remains of a class forty 40 124! 1984. 47 248 crosses Ince Moss. 1984.
