I'm feeling like a vulture, but I've probably just made my last purchases from Hattons.

As I said earlier, I wish the company and their staff well in the future.

Likewise. I didn't buy much from them but had one last pickover...

But equally kicking up a fuss / speculating on here won't help either!

The quality of the product speaks for itself and not only would the business owners (Hattons) want to maximise the returns they can get from the orderly disposal of the companys assets I'm sure there are people in the employ of other manufactures who appreciate the quality of the Genesis coaches too who could be interested in obtaining them….

OK so people may miss out on getting the liveries they have been salivating over for batch 3 etc but there is a fair chance that when the dust has settled they will pop up in another manufacturers range.

However for the moment our thoughts should be with the people behind / who work at Hattons (plus their families and friends).....

I'm not kicking up a fuss? Most of what you have said is in line with what I have said so I'm a bit puzzled. As I've already said, Hattons won't be maximising the potential of the tooling as they have already said that batch 3 won't be happening, but hopefully another entity will purchase the tooling so there will be more future models. Again, I've already said this.

Would much rather they still remained a Hattons product though....

Hattons development of them was a real bonus to the hobby and as such morally speaking it feels that they should be the ones to reap the rewards for many years to come.

Agree entirely but with today's announcement, that's not going to happen.

They dont like Brit tourists pointing at them and trying to take a photo :-)

Even more of a head shaking moment than filling in the green form on the way over with the invitation on the back to write to the National Office of Paperwork Reduction if you though it was too long.

I wonder if anyone ever ticked the box to say they were involved in terrorism?

I trust that the wheels shown in the second image are not representative of what will be supplied by KR as the left hand wheel will run very eccentrically given that the axle hole opening looks decidedly offf centre.

    I admire your optimism 😜

  6. Normally DPD would be my go-to and when getting stuff sent to my home they still are. But the one on the round at work recently hit one of my colleague's cars and denied all knowledge - had to send the CCTV to them to get anything done.

Earlier this week got a "no-one there" email - you can SEE someone in the window in the photo!

Warp drive would be a bit of a unique selling point, with Coaxial gears.

    Genuine Klingon couplings.

Vulcan foundry prototypes goes without saying.

of course the model is already here, hidden behind a cloaking device

Boldly going where no model has ever been before.

just what exactly am i rabbiting on about… oh beam me upto scotland.

It sounds like you've already had a wee dram or two 😜

it’s not always possible to tell how a tree is. I had one blow down in my garden a few years ago. Looked absolutely fine on the outside, grew lots of leaves. Was absolutely rotten in the core and was only held up by about 1 inch of wood around the outside.

My parents have a few tall trees, and they get them inspected by tree surgeons at least twice a year due to the proximity of neighbouring buildings, and because it's the right thing to do. Fairly early last year, someone from one of the neighbouring houses knocked to let them know he had gained a horizontal tree overnight.

It was half a 60+ft poplar, that has been inspected less than a month before. Amazingly, it landed neatly alongside the rear wall of this person's house - all he could see out the back door and windows was foliage. The only damage caused was to two fence panels and the adjoining post, and some trim had been knocked off a shed. Amazing really! As with yours - looked absolutely fine to the trained eye.

Looks like someone 'hard' gave it a bit of a kicking!?

Sadly it looks very similar to how my brand new one came out the box. The general build quality was poor, but what allowed the real damage was the locos are bolted to an MDF board - but the parts on the loco that the bolts fit are flimsy plastic so the heavy loco just rips away from it, despite the foam around it. The should have put the tapped holes in the metal chassis blocks instead of the plastic keepers, would have saved them a fortune in refunds.
