  3. Did you live in our house? we did exactly the same, Aladdin heater on the landing, which eventually ended up in my Dads greenhouse when we got central heating, we used the Tilly lamps for fishing, not so much so we could see but to keep your hands warm. Clearing frost from the inside of the windows was usual as I don't think double glazing had yet been invented.

  14. On alternate years we go to our daughters for dinner on the 25th, son in law cooks brussels stir fried with bacon lardons, superb way to produce a tasty accompaniment to out turkey ( I have a Guinea fowl for boxing day at home when the sprouts will more traditional)
  15. For outdoor wear I tend to wear deer stalkers kit, Fjalraven is a good make and if I am required to not look like I've just crawled up a mountain I wear Moleskins, have to pay for the best though RS Williams will knock you back £150 a pair. Always warm and dry when out filming.

  17. Thanks puppers for the note, up to my arms in pre Christmas, nothing to report really, no muddling done, my health is pretty good except for the anti biotic regime for three months and the prospect of an alcohol free festive season, no doubt I shall catch up eventually, the whisky will not go off and funnily enough it seems to be one of the few items with no use by date😊
  18. "Mama Weer All Crazee Now" - Slade
  19. Funny that, me and my parents were due to emigrate there in '54, until my mother failed the medical because she was pregnant, this was in March and my brother didn't arrive until December, so it might indicate the journey could take months rather than weeks.
