  1. Shall I message you some images if it's alright with you?
  2. I say, Sir! You are quite a talented model-maker. By scratch-building, can you also recreate locomotive prototypes from scratch? Certain models that no company has made before or anything of a freelance type?
  3. The Pre-Grouping steam locos are a win-winn for me. The two other locos top my list:
  4. So much potential, so little time. Still, thanks very much for the suggestions.
  5. Those look absolutely brilliant! In fact, why not add some aged looks to them for authenticity?
  6. Sure, I missed out on the weekly NHS clap-athon or whatever it's called, but that doesn't stop me from doing model railway-related stuff as (believe it or not, Ripley) sales in Airfix kits and Hornby train sets ordered online have rocketed (kinda like a reverse WW2 only Hornby's in production during such harsh times). With this being said, I thought I would actually bother to contribute something and this is. An NHS steel wagon. Yes, an NHS Steel Wagon. This was something I still had from Hornby's My First Hornby train set from the early 2000s and what better way to repurpose a twenty-something year-old piece of rolling stock into something to show our appreciation for our beloved National Health Service. If anyone is generous enough to make a donation to beat this dreaded and accursed coronavirus once and for all, I would advise anyone to go and do so, please (even I would give a few quid to them which would be the equivalent of a Ginster's pasty). Being the die-hard steam fanatic I am, I was originally gonna make a 7-plank Private Owner wagon version in that livery, but I don't have a blue Pirvate Owner Wagon, but I will scout on eBay and try to obtain one so I would make a special local freight train hauled by a diesel shunter (if I had one) or just a steam tank engine. Anyway, let me know what you guys think and remember to stay safe and healthy!
  7. Sweet! Being an LNWR fan, I absolutely love these coaches!
  8. It's been weeks since I last went into a supermarket or a shop even with a mask on, but then again, it's better to be safe than sorry. Usually, I help with the shopping, but because of this pandemic lockdown, I hardly go to the shops as often as I used to.
  9. Seeing as you mentioned LMR, would it be in the LMR Blue livery or some other private owner or colliery company?
  10. I like that 0-6-0 tender engine as it has a Great Central/LNWR/North Eastern/Midland feel to it. I would love to recreate it in 00 Scale.
  11. This should be brought back into the public eye owing much to the Great Pandemic.
  12. This outside-cylinder 0-6-0 tank engine has a sort of LNWR/GCR flavour to it, though judging by the BR 60000 numbering scheme, it would be more Great Central origin. Imagine if this model was made in 00 scale on an Electotren 0-6-0 chassis? Had such a locomotive as this existed in real-life, its main purpose is for heavy shunting and local branchline traffic.
  13. Very interesting tank engine! It reminds me of the heritage railways in preservation! I totally like this 0-4-0 tank engine which has a fun and freelance side. Those coaches it hauls are very qauint and charming.
  14. Well, you've certainly kept yourself busy. How goes your model so far? I mean, it's amazing how you were able to bring a new lease of life into the old Tri-ang models as well as Wrenn, Tri-ang Hornby and Hornby Railways. I know I probably would.
  15. The LNER-liveried version is the best one and much easy to work with. Just a simple repaint, renumbering and there you go!
  16. I'm doing the same project, too! Only I haven't been doing much on it aside from the smokebox door.
  17. Good to see you're still going with the layout! Also, I see you still have your Midland Railway locos including the Midland Yankee Mogul!
  18. Hornby re-released the old Tri-ang Clerestory coaches, so maybe repainting them as surburban coaching stock into the Midland Railway crimson lake livery would be an option.
  19. It's up to you, really. Hornby announced their BR 2MT 2-6-0 and maybe bringing in the Ivatt 2MT Mogul back sounds like a nice option even as a Railroad loco.
  20. In the Fun with Freelance thread, I discussed and revealed my latest model project(s) which were these: As well as the Bachmann Midland 3F 0-6-0 and tender chassis, I need a Hornby James the Red Engine body to work with. Does anybody happen to have a spare I can use and work with? I just need only the body as I would hate to pay for a complete loco only to take it apart just for a certain part. If anybody has one to spare, please kindly send me a PM and we can work out possible payment exchanges; thank you.
