  1. It is viewable here in the States; well, at least I was able to watch it.
  2. That one is so bad that it almost made me want to hit the "Ignore this topic" button! 🙀
  3. The U. S. A-1 Skyraider by Douglass Aircraft was another exception, first f;own in March of 1945; the Japanese never felt its sting, for which they should be thankful. The A-1 served into the Vietnamese war; a long service life. I was present when the A-1 was "piped over the side" at NAS Lemoore upon its official retirement from US Navy service. We (the ground support shop that I was attached to) got that plane to use as a training aid for plane captains. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Douglas_A-1_Skyraider
  4. Even if I wanted to, I probably could not get hippo meat here in this country!
  5. A photo of the mess, er, artwork would have been nice! 😺
  6. Thirty-plus years ago I did buy a couple of O scale kits; and built them: And this Southern hopper: I even went so far as to date this one: Note the hexagonal brass barstock used as a centersill; the wood one was way to light and the car did not ride well until I made this modification. I still think that it is too light; but after forty years, I no longer care! 🙀 And one more boxcar, a B&O "Canstock" car that I never took a photo of.
  7. Or, maybe, what is out of the photo to the right?
  8. It's getting kind of deep in here. 🙀
  9. A sign that I found in a thrift shop, it kind of fits right in with that one::
  10. Hmmm, whoever drew that does not know much about trains. The engine's road number would be in the numberboards not "express", no spikes or tieplates, no airhorn (although some modern practice is to put the horn back near the middle of the hood), Oddly, the cartoonist must have seen a photo somewhere of a Union Pacific "veranda turbine", the front is very suggestive of one: https://ogrforum.ogaugerr.com/fileSendAction/fcType/0/fcOid/57038617548943940/filePointer/57038617549201982/fodoid/57038617549201976/imageType/LARGE/inlineImage/true/veranda_02.jpg

  12. What about any that have been sold? Or shipped out of the UK?
  13. Did Rosemary tell you to post that?
  14. I can just picture the GRIMSBY company name painted on a US 100-ton covered hopper; in three-foot high letters! 🙀 Thank you for the idea. EDIT: Or in between the blue swooshes, replacing the CORN PRODUCTS: Note that the blue swooshes were an American Car & Foundry (ACFX) graphic and the lessee's name was painted between them. In later years after the lease expired (or was not renewed), the name was painted out.
