  1. An early Night owl from the Piedmont.
  2. Should be spelled "stollen", it is a traditional German Christmas bread. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stollen
  3. Finally managed to catch up on all of the ER posts missed during my Ohio trip so Night Owl from the Piedmont.
  4. WHERE IS THAT GROAN BUTTON??????? Those last few, ................................................ Especially that last one!
  5. In Middletown, Delaware, Home Depot and Lowe's are almost right next to each other.
  6. I first heard those as a combination : How do you get two whales in a mini? Over the xxxx bridge (name unremembered now).
  7. Hmmm, I forgot to ask: Was it edible? 🙀
  8. Easy, get one of these: https://www.ebay.com/itm/234259893252 They are available from many suppliers and plug/receptacle configurations.
  9. An interesting day today. First, I had some Jamison's Irish whiskey for the first time, interesting flavor. Second was a snake in the lobby of the motel; a real small one that I scooped into a dustpan and dumped him outside in a nearby field. The look on the desk clerk's face when I finally persuaded him that I was not kidding and he saw the snake! 😺 My only complaint is that I had left my phone in the room so no photos. 😿 Anyway, Night Owl from the Piedmont.
  10. I'll sing him a hymn: Him, him, ............. him.
  11. That reminds me of the narrowest house in Baltimore, MD; it is about six or so feet wide, a long-armed person could touch both walls at the same time. And now Night owl from the Piedmont.
  12. Hah! I have been able to do a bit of "catch up" and am now reasonably up-to-date. A total alcohol ban would never work; as stated by another, it was a great failure here (U. S.) with long-lasting effects that are still with us. And as far as importing those seeds, who would even have the b@!!$ to even go out and collect them? Well, back to the salt mine for the day.
  13. Another quick check-in and a good Night Owl from the Piedmont.
  14. Seems logical; both names are Hispanic.
  15. A quick visit to loook at what's happening. I checked a few posts to keep up but I did not have time to read too many so Night Owl from the Piedmont
  16. Night Owl from the Piedmont.
  17. But that prepares you for whatever might happen.
  18. A quick comment. I will be away from constant computer access for a while so will not have my regular daily check-in routine. Hopefully, I will have a few minutes in the late evenings to pop in for a bit.
  19. A salamander? Who would eat a salamander? They are usually quite small with very little meat on their bones! 🙀
  20. The "clapping hands" rating was for that; all else was "eh, ok". So WELCOME BACK!
  21. NOOOOO!!!!!! Not that, I have a Dapol class 66 and a GWR railcar on pre-order. When I first saw a photo of the 66, I wanted one; my first were OO but I really wanted an O scale one. Finally Dapol is releasing one at a reasonable price. The railcar reminds me of an interurban that ran between 69th Street (Upper Darby just over the Philadelphia city line) to Norristown. Even the colors are close, this car: But in this earlier color scheme:
  22. Night Owl from the Piedmont.
