I have had a bit of a break from engines (I was going a bit loco) and decided to have a go at a Howard Scenics kit that I got from a Scale forum years ago. Not having made a building before or whether I could still get this kit I did do a copy so that I could do a trial run. Which proved fortunate as I have thrown many sheets in the bin. The kit would have been wasted. Anyway here are a few shots of progress so far, its not as neat as I would like, I think it maybe that the card that I used was too thick and was difficult to cut.

Hi Peter, thanks for that. The Wood in place at the moment is sust an offcut if ply from when I was Cutting the baseboards. When I get as far as the platforms there Will be lots of running test before its all fixed down.

Thank you for your comments Mike (I feel a little bit flattered) but its good to know that we are all getting inspiración from each other. What started me on the LNWR was seeing London Road at scale forum many years ago buying a kit of the M&L dock tank. Then talking to Jol Wilkinson about coach painting at various exhibition getting MRJ no 54 and taking the plunge on coach painting.

Clearance looks a bit tight at the top end John. I have a similar problem and if you introduce a 65ft dining car then you have a real clearance problem. Peter
Hi Peter do you mean the platform

Fascinating information - guess FR carriages would have been seen in the Carlisle area in the 1890's (?) Another livery to attempt.
Spent last night adapting the LRM 32' Luggage Composite to try and take it back to a slightly earlier era - so oil lamps on the roof and the individual upper footboards under each door
Still have to add chain / clasp brakes, side chains etc. Just plonked the body/roof on to take a photo so sorry it's a bit wonky.
Had a play with Blender and drew up the oil lamps - a friend printed them off for me. Lost the one at the front so attempted to cobble one up from a couple of Gibson bearings - not really good enough so think will have to rectify.
There's a fair few other details that aren't quite right (e.g. the buffer beams etc.) but once it's sprayed black hopefully not too noticeable. Also have to fit micro strip above the footboards to represent the support irons - hence the black pen....
I hope that you dont mind , but I may do do a couple like this.
