  1. So sorry i have took so long to get back to you been busy, I used woodland scenic scatter, I used fine turf green Fine blended green Blended Earth used some other brand but cant seem to remember what it was but in all honesty it all mixes well any way. Its down to lighting and personal preference really, just have a mess about trying the different combos if it does not look right add some more pva glue and paint mix and try adding different colours i found the thickness of the scatters built up works well. Thanks Lee
  2. Thank you for the kind words The trees are brought from china (Ebay) they look ok but need a second coat of scatter to hide the metal pronges, so all i did was mix a PVA mix of water glue and a dark paint brown or green together so it was very runny. I then dipped the trees in the mixture and sprinkled alot of the green colour scenic scatter over the trees making sure it soaked up all the glue, i went back to some of the trees about 30 minutes after and sprinkled more scatter to give a complete secount coat the the trees that need it. Hope this help thanks Lee
  3. Had the neibour around found out he loves trains Hello all Got the 9fs working double headed and used all the rolling stock had a great few hours here's the video. Lee
  4. Hi all, Had a test to see if i could keep 5 trains running and yeah it worked video below if you want to have a look. Started the fine detailing of the layout made a few walkways with a couple of concrete pads to link up some of the areas, and on it we have wood and metal sheet stock ready to go scratch built by me. 5. Howdy do all, Decided to clear up what I don't need from the layout and put them in the for sale section on another forum might go on eBay there are points, point motors, rolling stock, I managed to sort my best runner out , it was as good as dead, would not work properly it would just lock up randomly this happened for 5 years I tried everything but nothing would work, so in desperate times I got the WD40 and squirted it all over everything I could see including the inner motor around the gears you name it got it, after reverse and forwarding it for 20 of mins it sorted out . Tried it this morning and yeah it was great happy days I say Lee
  6. Thanking you all for the likes , Managed to do the removable village scene in fact his is the last part of the layout, got loads of running time to come soon once i have finished the finer details Had some great running time today with the kids once this part was finished, also saved one of the locos from the scrap heap not sure how but wd40 over the motor area and a few 100 forward reverse techniques seems to have freed something, its been bad for 5 years plus since the DCC was added i am puzzled but fingers crossed its ok for the future. 7. Thank you all, Well had a busy day today managed to squeeze a good few hours on the layout, i placed more fences, telegraph poles animals some bushes and finished the embankment at the country station area. Started work on the signal area, managed to knock up a walkway built into the rock face need to tweak it a little and some plants but its getting there. Finally the police have arrived due to 2 horses that was stolen out the animal shed, the locals are not happy at all. Lee
  8. Thanks for the kind comments had a quick play so here is the footage . Enjoy Lee
  9. Thank you all, Planted bushes the last trees and generally darkened some of the colours they was too bright, some photos look at bit too dark but it's better in person seems to all blend in nice. Also finished off the front board and white starting a nice little waterfall that flows of the edge. Lee
  10. Hi all, Thanks for the comments Been busy on the layout last week started planting the trees, making a platform on the left side near bridge , wiring the shed storage area fitting the points and finally testing the track out. Testing is going well with a few minor tweaks with some of the trains and track but all in all its going ok, will get a better video of the storage area once the training is completed by my little camera girl ( She either talks through it or its at a 45 degree angle )lol. Quickly done this its over due to show some running trains guys https://youtu.be/2bPhi_vMuos Enjoy Lee

  14. Hi all, All the ballast is done, track cleaned and trains tested over points, so pics of trains will soon be here i for one is Getting sick of the greenery now so i soon will be moving on to the next phase that is fences paths, then the area that is not touched will be a grubby dirty area to break up the green a bit ,with a retaining wall and a very small segment of a village no more room Lee
  15. Hello all, Finally done the job I really hate and got the ballast down, I used fine ballast this time compared to what I used on the last layout it looks much better and more to scale, so happy days. Also added more green to the sides and redone the grass to the middle I was not happy with the first results. On the last picture there's is a bit of moving about I now know what I will be doing to that area but will leave that till another day. Thanks for looking Lee
