Hi, Chris Meacham of Golden Arrow Productions does the early Bullied tender bodies for the short and long tender chassis, they are moulded in Milky Bar resin and have the basic dimnsions correct. I am currently working on one for my MN Elders Fyffes and apart from some detail on the back of the tender all the other add on details is from RT Models (formerly Albert Goodalls range). One thing I would like to see is the rear steps for the MN cast in bronze as they are narrower than the ones for the WC / BB tenders. Anyway, I seem to have managed to corner the market in Hornby tenders, originally I just wanted one for Bude to replace the horrible LMS tender that it came with, then the MN project reared its striking head courtesy of a fellow RMWebber I managed to get two or three high sided tenders but attempting to modify the basic shape seemed a bridge too far. Then Chris Meacham (Brucie the Fish) came to the rescue once I get the tender sorted I shall sell off the surplus ones as I shall have no use for them. Then theres the Hornby Dublo WC tender with the 5250 gallon tender which was in reserve for a extensively modified 1981 Hornby second issue of the original which was on the Princess / Brittania chassis......... Hi, same here, had a note from Andrew to say he'd posted my goodies on the 17th of December and they arrived on the day before Christmas Eve. Can't get better service than that to Australia! Hi, I think you will find that Dave Cleal at MainlyTrains in Watchet will be able to help you. Dave still stocks the basics for 4mm model building and offers a very good mail order service. A number of years ago I posted off an order on the Thursday before Easter (Maundy Thursday) from Dampier in Western Australia's North West 1200 kms from Perth our State Capital, where all postal items have to pass on thier way to the rest of Australia (and the World). I returned to work on the Tuesday after Easter and driving into Dampier to stock up on bread, cheese and milk I called into the Dampier Post Office to see if I had any mail, well, yes I did. There was a parcel postmarked Exeter on the previous Saturday, so they had got the order on Saturday and sent the goods the same day and I had the parcel in five days. You can't beat that! A quick check shows that Dave only keeps the Comet range of Flywheels, but he is closer than Australia! Cheers

Hi, Ian Rice did one in one of his books, I seem to recall that he moved the front splasher forward to a more accurate setting, removed the coal from the bunker and made up a new cab front with the correct spectacles etc, he also opened out under the boiler and fitted a scale chassis. I got a scale chassis for the R/R1 off of Ebay some years ago, it was originally made by Andrew Mullins of Branchlines in Exeter, perhaps the new owners still have them in their list? I know Andrew also did some lost wax castings for the boiler backhead and replacement scale splashers for the front but again not sure if they are still available. After living in Australia for many years I have found that if something is advertised or reviewed that is pertinent to my modelling needs then I buy it, I would rather be looking at it than for it. It also means that when I decide something will never get built or is about to be replaced by something RTR, then I maake a judement call as to whether I still need it, and if not off it goes to the auction.
