  1. Hi Rob, I use both Colbolts and Marcway points. There is some really good advice above and observations. My own experience is that the Marcway points do need fettling and if you are stuck should probably give them a ring. I had a quality/ gauge issue with a pair of Y points. This may sound really obvious but have you adjusted the swing mechanism on the PM? Because I'm using Marcway points and Peco flexi track I had to underlay with cork on the points. I left the underlay off underneath the tie bar to avoid any friction. Cheers Tim
  2. New Loco for the Brewery Hi all, Brewery staff at Green Leaf inspect the new arrival. Cheers Tim
  3. Dear Ray, thanks for the message.some of the details are in an earlier post on page 1. The layout is 316 cm by 80 cm (10' x 2' 6" approx.) taking up one side of a room. I have nicked lots of ideas but the space saving idea of two three-way points is from Dutch River Dock layout which I think is great. The points are Marcway - 2 x three-way, 1 x Y point and 5 mixture of left and right hand points. The track is Peco flexi. There is cork underlay under the points as there is a height difference. I can recommend Marcway points especially to get around frog switching all done internally with the switch. Point motors are DCC Concepts operated by their Switch Levers. As a lot of people have noted it's worth thinking and planning as much as you can. However I don't think you can avoid making errors and learning lots. Good luck with yours why not start a thread? I am attaching some phots and one of the diagram which gives you a rough idea. Cheers Tim

  16. Thanks South Tyne for the kind words. I've had a bit of time over the weekend. Here is an image of a narrow space filler between the Cooperage and the Water Tower, I am thinking this is could be the brewery's laundry. The other shot is a panorama looking down the layout. Cheers Tim

  24. I did the detailing on the tank for the Water Tower yesterday. The rivet detail is a bit lost in these photos. Cheers Tim
  25. Water Tower Bit more progress to show with the Water Tower. Brick card on plus brick detail and side stone, which are one way of solving ill fitting edges! The Tower is in a Neo-Gothic revival style. The plan is to eventually have a pump engine in it. The last picture shows the tower in the run of the other buildings - just a small matter of a power station to go then that is the back scene of buildings done. Cheers Tim
