Ade's 7mm layout: Malmesbury station
Aldgate Box Boy replied to Adrian Stevenson's topic in 7mm+ modelling
Hi Ade, looking good. Can I just ask how you took the lettering off the Sentinel? Cheers Tim -
Hi All, more progress on the grain van. I've said it before I always think I need to do one to practice then do a second after I've learnt. It's a very interesting kit, I don't think it is complicated but not for the absolute beginner cheers Tim

Bowes Line (Moving pictures)
Aldgate Box Boy replied to Ruston's topic in UK Standard Gauge Industrial Modelling
Hi just picked up on this. The Film was made in 1975 as Porcy Mane says by Amber. It's on a wonderful DVD called The Tyne Documentaries which includes Launch (a ship being launched in Wallsend), The Bowes Line; The Last Shift about Adamsez; and Glassworks. The DVD also has a short film about Amber - well worth a look. My copy is dated 2007. Cheers Tim -
Hi All, some more progress on the grain wagon. The kit is tab based which make me very cautious about cutting things from the fret. The roof took some shaping as did the side strips. Cheers Tim

I began a new grain wagon over Xmas. It's from the M&M range and came out a year or so ago. I can't find them now. This is my first non Big Jim brass kit. The style of instructions take some getting used to but it's going together OK so far. Cheers Tim

Hi all, just about finished the equipment for the workshop. I've recently made a workbench, a forge and a grinder/ sharpener. I'm looking forward to painting them up. Cheers Tim

Hi all, I am in the process of making a lathe for the building interior. Not finished and needs painting but here it is. Cheers Tim

Hi all, I've begun work on the Engineering Shop for the brewery. It is a relatively small two floor building. Ground floor houses the machine shop. The two photos show some of the equipment including two drills. The one on the left is a Hardy's Hobbies 3D printed one - good but I found most of the levers came off in detaching it from its base/ support. The one on the right is one I built from scratch yesterday. Not finished nor painted but I really enjoyed the challenge.. Cheers Tim

Hi All, Power Station almost finished - obviously need to embed it in the ground but that will have to wait until the other building are in place. I've done a lot of brick detailing and added a down pipe and lamps, which will eventually work. cheers Tim

Hi made a lot of progress on the Power Station yesterday. I cut most of the brick work out but ran out on the last return - . So I decided to crack on. Cheers Tim

Power Station started I begun the Brewery's Power Station, which will finish the run of building at the back of the layout. It's in a tricky curved corner. Cheers Tim
