  1. Brilliant - thanks all round on this one John. Once I’ve found someone who’s up for printing this I’ll be ordering transfers. cheers Jay
  2. Seems like IronMink has created the files for a Gannet hopper. Any interested in printing some of these? https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:6114058
  3. Thanks chaps. I’m just about past the hangover. @Tortuga yes thanks for the heads up on those. Really good to deal with and the 3d print is decent. Jay
  4. No progress this week due to me turning 50 and milking the birthday celebrations for all they’re worth! I treated myself to these 3D printed hoppers:
  5. The chain fencing in an L shape around the end of the basin. If you’re really wanting it maybe just have it across the end and not the bit alongside if that makes sense. That’s removing part of the basin that can be used - what would you do that? Jay
  6. I would advise keeping your projects in one thread if you can, from my own experience. It’s really easy for a secondary thread to slide away mate. Excited to see what you’re going to do next! Jay
  7. The ultimate IMHO is beans under a slice, egg under a slice, with a sausage dam between the two. Brunel himself would approve. Jay
  8. Dammit! More fun to be had there then. Thanks @Middlepeak! Jay
  9. Your memsahib has been trained well. Correct structural engineering is absolutely essential. Jay
  10. I’ve been working on a few bits of detailing for the layout while watching some Glastonbury highlights in the back ground. Started painting the signal arm. A means to get over the wall by the crossing. Weathered Oxford Models tractor. Gradient sign for the top of the incline. Jay
  11. Has the marketing gone wrong though? In the last 12 months Hornby have had their own TV series plus there’s been some hefty celebrity public endorsements of the hobby. My own opinion (I admit I don’t have evidence for this) is they’ve priced people out. Entry hobbyists are not going to pay £200+ per loco and the more seasoned are going to look to kits or the small manufacturers who are bringing out great products for a lower RRP Jay
  12. Saw this and thought of you. Zoe on the Cromford & High Peak Facebook page occasionally takes OS maps and gives them this treatment:
  13. The short version being they invested too heavily in stock based on sales projections, then they didn’t meet the sales targets. People are spending less. I’ve seen this with my own business across the last 18 months. Jay
  14. The downturn in sales won’t be limited to Hornby given the current economic climate and I expect to see a lot more of the larger businesses announcing share drops. The question is can they pass through the storm…and it’s going to be some time till we see some recovery! The short term effect maybe less new models while they shift current stock which is locking away cash flow. Jay
  15. Not the best photo - it seems it’s quite tricky taking a shot of a 4mm scale signal! The home signal at the top of the incline had a 3’ corrugated LNWR arm, no spectacle plates and looked like other parts had been removed. I suspect it was static and haven’t seen any photos of it in the down position so I’ve modelled this accordingly. It’s a Ratio post with some bits removed, a cut down Ratio base then MSE parts for the arm, lamp and ladder. Jay
  16. Do you have a link for this please? Reckon I’d be up for some Gannets also! Thanks in advance. Jay
  17. Bit of fencing wrangling up ‘Top today. need more adjustment I reckon. Jay
  18. A selection of hoppers on the Middleton Top - Parsley Hay section:
  19. Thanks for taking the time to clear that up John - much appreciated! I’ll be heading your way for some new transfers in that case. Jay
  20. How considerate of her. Does the track side sign about 3 inches in front of her paws still exist? Jay
