  1. That links up with an L4 because that has only been there for 2 years. The L7s themselves link up to PL16s which were diverted when the M23 was built (which created the L7s). Then the L4 came and separated the line for housing development. The original pylon in its place was an L7 D60. all the best, Matthew
  2. And now the LNER HST's are gone. An end of an era :sad_mini:

  3. I do believe this is one. It is next to the M23 at Crawley
  4. Yep thats a Balfour Beatty D20EC If I could see them that would be lovely thanks! And yes it is Bullen Lane substation. All the best, Matthew
  5. Ah I thought so, those SF60s look like L2s but I might be completely wrong. All the best, Matthew
  6. Does anyone have any photos of Bramford substation before the changes have been made (eg pre Sizewell B) or any maps as I am quite interested to see how it looked before?
  7. Isn't that at Broxbourne? If so I have passed that a few times on the train and noticed that a lone L2 DT is involved. The L12 (on the right) came later though All the best, Matthew
  8. If anyone is interested I just found these self adhesive overlays for a Bachmann class 90 in the Malcom livery: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Adhesive-Vinyl-Decal-To-Fit-Hornby-Bachmann-Class-90-Malcolm-Rail-90024/133273657308?_trkparms=aid%3D111001%26algo%3DREC.SEED%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D20160908105057%26meid%3De23ed5e4f0614076a9c99e10e4d75785%26pid%3D100675%26rk%3D1%26rkt%3D15%26sd%3D133273657308%26itm%3D133273657308%26pmt%3D0%26noa%3D1%26pg%3D2380057&_trksid=p2380057.c100675.m4236&_trkparms=pageci%3Af9beeba4-2184-11ea-af9b-74dbd180fc44|parentrq%3A18a674dc16f0a9cce02351afffad9409|iid%3A1
  9. Ahhh ok cool, I believe I saw one down the A27 near Chichester earlier on in the year if I remember correctly, I took a picture so I’ll attach it for comparison.
  10. Ahh I wish I had a collection like this. I have noticed that ‘polon’ on the top left corner. Is that new? all the best, Matthew
  11. Yep that’s the one! I thought it was one of the lines down south as they looked familiar. all the best, Matthew
  12. Saw this layout with some pylons at the Peterborough model railway exhibition. It’s the Severn Models kit but it certainly looks the part!
  13. Thank you!! That is a lovely model! All the best, Matthew
  14. Can I see a photo of it? As I am thinking of joining the collectors club so I can get it. All the best, Matthew
  15. Ah ok thanks, I might have to have a go at drawing these at a later date. all the best, Matthew
  16. Very interesting, I wonder what these would look like in the flesh. We’re they identical to the 87s albeit being a bit longer? all the best, Matthew
  17. Thank you for the info and the kind words! If this is the case I wonder how easy it is to modify the Heljan 58? I did read about their plans for exporting the 58 as wasn’t the shape of it based off American locomotives if I remember correctly? all the best, Matthew
  18. Evening, After doing a bit of research on the web I came across this list of unbuilt British rail locomotives and on the list was a class 88 which was basically an electric version of a class 58. I tried to do some more research into it but I couldn’t find anything. So does anyone have any more info on this class even if it exists or not. I have done a quick sketch of how I’d think one would’ve looked and will put it on if anyone’s interested in seeing my interpretation of one. All the best, Matthew
  19. Just had a closer look at that tower, it's being used as a converter tower from double to single conductors. I'll attach a zoomed in image to show.
  20. Hmmm interesting. I have seen that a few times on my trips to Norwich but like you I cannot find a reason why. It might be that there was a proposed new line branching from that tower and it was built with that in mind but never materialised like you said. I wouldn't think it'd be a substation because of the close proximity of the A47 and the L6 pylon (the larger ones). All the best, Matthew
  21. Does anyone have any photos/links to photos of class 90 90050 in ex works condition for a class 90 upgrade I am working on?

  22. Ooh very nice. I’ll have to see if I can find any pictures of it. Well that’s just motivated me even more!! best regards, Matthew
  23. Ah ok thanks for clarifying. Both the layouts look superb though. At one point I might make a layout based on woodhead but it will include a full size to scale Blaw Knox L6 pylon. best regards, Matthew
  24. Did you say it was O gauge with a Hornby Skaledale substation? Aren’t they 2 completely different scales? The layout is excellent though and although there’s no model pylons, at least there’s some reference to some being there like the back scene. best regards, Matthew
