  1. I don't think Sunderland has overheads all the way to it. However there is a lot of room in the 91s internally so maybe a bi-mode 91 perhaps?
  2. I really hope this is true, in my opinion I don't mind the second arm. Anything is better than the plastic ones on the 87. Ooh Freightliner Grey would look nice, maybe even pushing it to some RfD liveries too I was also attempting a Stagecoach livery a well (being as VTEC was 49% Stagecoach) so I need to make that too. All the best, Matthew
  3. I also noticed that if these are the official drawings, then we may have a spring-loaded metal pantograph! It has a wire running down similar to the Bachmann 90 so that is a possibility!
  4. Yep that's true. Every 90 I saw was heading to Leeds. I also redesigned the Freightliner livery on my 91 drawing:
  5. Yeah I think that was the case on the ECML as the 90 definitely has better acceleration compared to a 91.
  6. I agree it does! I think it was because of the class 90s having better acceleration to the 91s though I’m not too sure. As for the Grand Central livery on a 91, that was another one I decided to do too:
  7. Will Hornby be releasing spares for their pantographs? Mine has pretty much broken now (it won’t keep in position anymore and it’s barely been used!) I do need a replacement for it so perhaps contacting Hornby may help? I really do wish they made it out of metal.
  8. Happy Birthday RMweb! Despite me being a relatively new member as I signed up in January 2018 what I have learned and seen on here is amazing. There’s so much to choose from and explore! For me it’s been a place where I can ask questions about certain things that I cannot find the answer to on my own and I always get help from another person! It’s really nice to find layouts that are right up your street like Davidson Parkway. Warrington Bank Quay, the northern approach and many others! Ever since I have signed up I have enjoyed every bit of it and my knowledge has grown so much!
  9. When do Greater Anglia fully withdraw their  class 90 push-pull sets?

Suspect your unlikely to get anything in the current climate!

  10. Hattons have updated the page on the Virgin Mk3As, they are due between July-September this year!
  11. Hi all, I have modified some Balfour Beatty L6 plans to suit the two D40EC types. Number 1 is for the Burwell towers and number 2 is for the Hams Hall and Sundon towers. All the best, Matthew
  12. Hi Jamie, There are 2 main identifying marks which point out that this is a Balfour Beatty D40EC. The first one is location, they are commonly found on the approach to substations, however the one i saw the other day is a bit odd because it isn't, however very close to it is a D90/DT tower that seems to be at a very odd angle, so there may have been a plan for a substation but it wasn't built. I will list the other examples with pictures as well for reference. The other indication is the top of the tower. It shares the same body and structure as a D60 but the top of a D60 is a triangluar prism shape whereas the D40EC top is a pyramid, like the D30. I will also attach some pics for reference as well. Here's one at Burwell substation, there's 2 here. There is also another one at the former Hams Hall power station: Another one at Sundon substation by the M1: And here is the difference in tower peaks (tops) between the D60 and the D40EC. Picture 1 is the D60 and picture 2 is the D40EC: I hope this helps, All the best, Matthew
  13. It was a screenshot off of a YouTube video on Oxfords 2020 announcements. I did have conformation though that these will be arriving this year from an email I sent a few weeks back. I’m sure they’ll remove the yellow on the TSOs. hope this helps, all the best, Matthew
  14. Just found this image of the Virgin Mk3As. They look quite nice to be honest.
  15. Also I found this nicely hidden Balfour Beatty L6 D40EC while on the train to Birmingham. I took a couple of pictures off my phone but they aren’t great. It’s near Stamford
  16. A recent find: A JL EVE L6 D90 on the Nursling-Fawley power line.
  17. Ah many thanks for the info on the girders! The 87 is very nice indeed. Hopefully Hornby make this model soon, that'd be one I would definitely get! All the best, Matthew
  18. Hi, I have been following this layout for a while and I am loving every bit of it! Like everyone else has said this layout is outstanding! I do have a couple of questions though. Where did you get the girder bridge parts from? Also. I saw you had the NSE Olympic class 87 in your collection. Where did you get the transfers for it? all the best, Matthew
  19. It is a Russian design. It’s incredibly similar to the ones you see over there and in Chernobyl as well. The first pic is the one off the advert. The second is the same pylon type at the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant
