  1. My wagons arrived today. First purchase with Revolution and they are superb. Im happy to wait when the end product is as good as this. Models not toys. Just ordered a pair of mullet engineers wagons on the strength of what I've had so far. Great job and thank you.
  2. That 175 has been worth the wait. Someones going to get a unique model finished to Squirrel standard.
  3. The Hornby equivalent of a peep show (so I'm reliably told....cough). Still waiting for my Class 87s, my APT.....ooooh you tease.....
  4. Whats in Hornbys 2022 range?.......2024's deliveries.
  5. I've got 4 coaches and the light bleed is through the joint between the upper and lower shells of the mould. It isn't shining through the plastic, its shining through a very fine gap.
  6. Ok i understand now - thanks for taking time to explain. Im not savvy enough to do that kind of wiring myself. Not the end of the world - light bleed in total darkness is noticeable but i don't run trains in total darkness anyway. Waited for 40 years for this train after missing out on the original as a 10 year old. The last few months of that 40 year is killing me
  7. Daft question. In the engine shed video the coach lights are off yet mine are on the moment the wheels touch the track - can they be turned off ? i can't see a switch but that doesn't mean its not staring me in the face (usually the case). Thanks
  8. I can imagine. Thankfully your patience is well documented.
  9. Class 175.....wow....not my era but its all i see down my neck of the woods. Looking forward to seeing this. Arriva or TFW livery Jerry ?
  10. I was thinking they are all very nice but i think I'm going to go with the egg ha ha !
  11. Now that's instructions. Not like the vague emails i send Mr Squirrel. Love the Westerns, handsome loco and would lend itself to a number of fictional liveries.
  12. Im sure I've seen a video of those JUA's coming out of Llanwern.
  13. Cheers - Really appreciate you taking the time to measure that up for me. Current track arrangement is laid using the PECO red 6ft gauge tool scale except for the curves. I feel it looks to close to my eyes even if it is to scale. Im reaching the point now where i dont feel i need to be dogmatic about these things so when i saw your spacing coupled with how good it all looks it reaffirms my train of thought. Ive just set up some spare track and id agree on the 40mm. Thanks again. Ps - loving the coach interiors.
  14. Thanks - id be interested to know what the measurement is. I know people can get a bit twitchy over these things but as you say none of it looks right if you want to be super critical. Its the willing suspension of disbelief. Looks great to me and if i get even close to your modelling i will be one happy chappy.
  15. Apologies mate - badly worded question from me. I was referring to the distance between tracks and not rails. I noticed yours lines seemed slightly further apart - which i really liked the look of. Ive used the little peco gauge to space my tracks and It may be to scale but it doesn't look right (to me) and I've still got a chance to change mine before i commit to ballasting. Your track spacing (amongst other things on your layout) looked better to my eyes. Cheers
  16. Hi - can i ask a question about your track spacing. Im making some adjustments and id like to go a bit wider than the 6ft scale I'm getting from the red PECO thingamajig...What is mm rail to rail on yours? does it vary? did you use any jig to maintain distance? Cheers PS - DRS 37 not my era but boy does it look good hauling matching coach stock
  17. Ok. Thats a big help. Learn something knew every time I'm on here LOL - Thanks
  18. Very clear, perfect sense. Thank you. Just watching a cab view of class 91 on ECML and its exactly as you've shown. Brill.Cheers Andi.
  19. Thank you. Great - So if im in the cab i could expect to see a post signal on my left (if im on far left) and to my right if im on the faster line. Space permitting. Good, i like the gantries and train-tech sell light kits to add to gantries but that's out of my skills zone (and probably eyesight) now. Cheers
  20. Hi - hopefully a straight forward one. Im running 4 lines in one part of layout. 2 up and 2 down lines (im no jargon expert so apologies). Ive got some Train-Tech signals on my layout and id like to use them on the 4 track arrangement - Im not a slave to following real life but i try to keep at least plausible to me (im the only one looking at it). On real life 4 tracks are signals ever positioned between the two centre rails or are they only ever on an overhead gantry? Tried looking on line but not getting anywhere. Only twin track locally so i can't even go for a nose. Layout is based late 80s early 90s (im not setting any new trends ). Many thanks.
  21. Ive no idea im afraid. If i can keep my fingers out of these things i'm happy. I really would give it a go for a few weeks - mine sounded quite shocking at first, to the point where i thought i won't be able to live with it. I think it was just different to what i was used to. Fine now. Give it a good run, top speed is noisiest but its a DMU and prototypically shouldn't be hemming it around your layout.
  22. The motor on my new 158 (non sound) makes a different noise to what I'm used to on diesel locos. I found it a bit whiny (best i can think of) to start but now its either calmed down or im used to it (or both). I thought the same on the 117 as well. It just wasn't what i was used to with the big heavy locos. If yours sounds the same, don't worry, run it for a few weeks (on and off - not continuous ). Mine is going great, faultless, but then again all my Bachmann stock is.
  23. And we have lift Off !!!!!! You are a star mate. Plugged it together earlier and nothing happened. Of course if you treat it as two separate systems 'conversing' then they both have to have the same loco code !!!...So simple. Im just driving the Bachmann class 158 off the hand held with a big cheesy grin on my face... I really can't thank you enough. If we ever cross paths one day i owe you a pint or two. Great. Cheers. Steve.
