  1. I actually still have all of my old GCSE and A-Level English Lit essays. Most of them still really hold up. My analysis of Nick Carraway in The Great Gatsby particularly.
  2. Awesome Chris! Definitely a thought, thanks for the heads up. I'll think about it, definitely.
  3. Yeah. I doubt anyone here would intentionally produce anything like this.
  4. Ooh, beautiful! This would be perfect for Kelsby yard!
  5. I actually have one of these in the KLR's stock roster! It's used as part of the track maintenance train.
  6. Judging from my own personal experience I'd take a wild guess at "no".

Thanks Sem for the 4P!
  8. Just asked because that seems to be what a good chunk of the KLR's goods traffic would be on the weekends. Common carrier style goods for markets and stuff, not elephants. Excellent to see!
  9. In that case, a small selection of mine. (Mainly because my Warhammer 40k collection is massive and I find it difficult to display it all at once anywhere except on the kitchen floor.)
  10. Cool. See quite a few in there from my neck of the woods.
  11. Thanks. As usual, that praise means a lot coming from a man I see as a mentor. I was painting on a much smaller scale before doing this, having played Warhammer 40,000 for some time. (Is it OK if I put a picture up to demonstrate?) Therefore, I like to think I paint without really thinking about it, almost automatically as it were.
  12. Hmm. Might have to try and find a copy. Seems fascinating.
  13. Unfortunately, this is the issue with most of C. Reginald Dalby's illustrations for the Railway Series.
  14. Not to mention that the way they're handling the animals is really dangerous. There is literally nothing to stop the bears just walking forwards and mauling the guy holding the rope. Also that horse appears to be in distress.
  15. All this talk about common carriers got me thinking. Would the KLR technically count under that, if that law still exists 110 years after Castle Aching is set? Don't know how it works, either in the "real" world or the whimsical, dare I say more pleasing, alternate universe that the WNR, the KLR and such exist in.
  16. And now I turn away for a couple hours and I'm completely lost. What a world.
  17. Thanks. As someone who relies on RTRbashing to create his loco fleet, that fills me with pride. Especially as I've only been doing this properly since mid-February. Your 2-8-0 is looking fantastic by the way. Excellent concept. Funny how you can just create such a nice looking loco by just slapping some bits together. Hell, I rely on that mentality to be honest.
  18. You've taken inspiration from me and actually gone ahead with it? I'm genuinely flattered!
  19. And I will abstain from conversation on collieries for the simple reason that I'd have no bl**dy clue what I'd be talking about.
  20. Wow, how did I miss the existence of this thread? Forgive me my vice here upon your mention of this film: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3OzAo1lsvr8
