  1. Very nice, but a small adjustment for accuracy. We here at the KLR don't really do lining and at the moment don't do lettering.
  2. And here is the complete Kelsby signal box. Grubby but quaint, I think. At least that was the intent.
  3. You also got the KLR livery somewhat incorrect. They haven't fully lined their locomotives since the very beginning. Usually the only blue parts are the boiler bands and on larger locos the edges of the splashers. That's usually it.
  4. Duly noted. That will be corrected next time. Cheers. The KLR was established in 1898 but opened in 1903. The route was not completed until 1910 though due to various things. I'm assuming this is 1906, hence why I mentioned them still working out the design for the original Neo-Gothic Elmtree Heath station (which in the modern day-set version I'm actually modelling, mostly no longer exists, being destroyed by a German bomb meant for Elmtree Heath airfield in 1940 and replaced a little after the War with a smaller, more sedate building - the clock tower and parts of the outer wall of the original still exist.) As in reality the KLR itself is very much the new kid on the block but David Bradleigh is already well respected amongst the railway community for other reasons.
  5. Thank you! I'm glad to be a part of your little world (albeit at the time that the WNR is being modelled in the KLR would be in its very early days, probably only open for a couple years or so.)
  6. Can I also say how proud and pleased I am that the KLR appears to be part of the official Castle Aching canon now, considering? I barely expected you to even talk to me on here, let alone our work be linked like this Guess meeting your heroes isn't always a disappointment.
  7. Consider this expanding the rich tapestry of the world you instigated the creation of!
  8. Eustace Missenden West Norfolk Railway Co. Ltd Achingham Town Station Offices Station Road Achingham Norfolk Baronet David Bradleigh Kelsby Light Railway Co. Ltd Hewe Manor Manor Road Hewe Telham Ely Cambridgeshire Eustace, I genuinely have no idea what you are talking about. Please elaborate. Yours sincerely, Your friend, Col. David Bradleigh, CBE, 2nd. Baronet Bradleigh, CEO and CME of the Kelsby Light Railway Co. Ltd.
  9. ...yeah, as said I have none of those things. Plus I'd already put it together by the time you posted the first one, Chris. Sorry. Mission failed. I mean there's still some details to add like guttering and the hooks with buckets on at the front, as well as a wash coat and paint touch-ups, but that's the general gist. Also accidentally snapped off the rear roof ornament but it looks fine with just the front one anyway.
  10. Eustace Missenden West Norfolk Railway Co. Ltd Achingham Town Station Offices Station Road Achingham Norfolk Baronet David Bradleigh Kelsby Light Railway Co. Ltd Hewe Manor Manor Road Hewe Telham Ely Cambridgeshire Eustace, I recently received a string of Morse code dots and dashes in my post from you. While I am familiar with it from my time in His Majesty's Armed Forces I did not read it. I do believe this was intended for someone else. I will not pry into your business, but I feel you may wish to check the address on the envelope next time. Yours sincerely, Your friend, Col. David Bradleigh, CBE, 2nd. Baronet Bradleigh, CEO and CME of the Kelsby Light Railway Co. Ltd.
  11. Cheers. Nice to see my English Literature qualification isn't going to waste.
  12. And building no.2 has arrived, Kelsby station house, in the form of a Dapol booking hall kit. I liked what the end result looked like in the product pictures so I felt it was perfect for Kelsby.
  13. Kelsby signal box continues to take shape. Building the box itself is done, not all it needs is painting and glazing.
  14. Sem, we are writing letters on a forum thread as two characters who are not only fictional but mine is supposed to have been dead for some 90 years by the time my actual layout is set. I think they can tell it's fiction
  15. Eustace Missenden West Norfolk Railway Co. Ltd Achingham Town Station Offices Station Road Achingham Norfolk Baronet David Bradleigh Kelsby Light Railway Co. Ltd Hewe Manor Manor Road Hewe Telham Ely Cambridgeshire Mr. Missenden Excellent news. I look forward to seeing your work. And Your news on Lord Hamilton's work... intrigues me. Bit early for that yet. Not even finished laying the permanent way yet. Only just got to Alnerwick. The two locomotives we have at this time will be fine for the time being. You will be kept informed however. Yours sincerely, Col. David Bradleigh, CBE, 2nd. Baronet Bradleigh, CEO and CME of the Kelsby Light Railway Co. Ltd. P.S: Excellent. You know where to send her. Much thanks from Thomas and Elizabeth.
  16. David BradleighKelsby Light Railway Co. Ltd Hewe Manor Manor Road Hewe Telham Ely Cambridgeshire Mr Mis-Senden, Thank you for that enlightening piece of information. Maybe it is a good thing that you intercepted my post, even if the thought of you doing so fills me with quiet rage. I am a man who likes his privacy and I feel that whom I converse with is, generally, none of your damn business. Such nosing doesn't help but remind me of my late wife (God rest her soul.) My intention for the station at Elmtree Heath was more something of the Gothic persuasion. I was in London recently admiring W. H. Barlow's masterpiece at Saint Pancras and thought to myself that I would like something along that bent. Your offer of help us is gladly accepted my man. Don't fret as this will be kept purely between us. I'm in enough hot water with the Great Eastern for daring to try building a railway in their domain without their say to risk exacerbating the situation. Your draughtsmanship will be much appreciated. Take care my friend. Yours sincerely, Col. David Bradleigh, CBE, 2nd. Baronet Bradleigh, CEO and CME of the Kelsby Light Railway Co. Ltd. P.S: Remember the game, Eustace. P.S.S: By the by, do you know of any good nannies I can hire? Thomas requires one. Young Caroline is getting to be quite a handful. My chest does swell with pride though; it seems my granddaughter knows what she likes, just like her grandfather. They grow up so fast.
  17. Was more that I was trying to keep to a theme. I like the Terrier but on a line intended to use Eastern design practice it's hard to justify it to myself. I'm sorry, I'm just weird like that. I can only just get away with the 14xx.Though with some modifications a 2-4-0 or 2-2-2 would be fun. And I will. Just waiting until I'm at a keyboard.
  18. Hmm. Might have to if I can't find an answer before I start building the line proper.
  19. I'm just glad I got my time period right and was writing as the right Baronet Bradleigh.
  20. David BradleighKelsby Light Railway Co. Ltd Hewe Manor Manor Road Hewe Telham Ely Cambridgeshire Mr O'Doolight, We here at the Kelsby Light Railway would however be willing to take you on in assisting with the construction of a station at Elmtree Heath. With so many of the other railwaymen laughing at us and the GER breathing down our necks we could use all the help we can get. Yours sincerely, Col. David Bradleigh, CBE, 2nd. Baronet Bradleigh, CEO and CME of the Kelsby Light Railway Co. Ltd. P.S: Also remind Mr. Mis-Senden that he still owes me for the card game we played when I visited the WNR last month. (I seriously hope I've got my timeline right)
  21. Oof. Ouch. Yeah, that's pretty much destroyed my hopes of ever getting one at all for less than £40 to be honest. I'd love a Peckett but again, money. Also, me being able to get to a show Can't drive, and live in the middle of nowhere. My chances of getting to a show are limited at best. Only manage to ever get to Norwich because I have a friend who gives me a lift to the train station in Attleborough. Also of what you've stated that leaves the Bachmann 0-4-0 chassis as the only halfway reasonable option to be honest. That's annoying though that might make me able to have the cab I originally thought of . Price wise though getting anything cheap in a short amount of time is kind of impossible it seems. I also agree on the etches. Why I exclusively use chassis from RTR locos.
  22. Could just gear it to the rear wheels. You'd probably only need a few millimetres to fit the gears in.
