  1. What on earth does that 08 have on its roof?
  2. Galactus much? Great to see you having some inspiration come to you Martin. Looks very complex.
  3. True, but I maintain it does still looks very Hudswell Clarke. I thought that as well. A kitbasher after my own heart!
  4. We start today's instalment with this lovely Nellie bash. Click the image for the link as always. And from the same seller, this lovely industrial 0-6-0ST. I get a very Hudswell Clarke vibe from this little loco. And a scratchbuilt SDJR coach too. Lovely. Best part about this particular look as well? I've seen very few terrible low-effort Thomas and Friends customs for once, so we get a reprieve this time around.
  5. Lovely! If I ever find myself in Eastbourne (not impossible considering my work) I'll stick my head in and say hello!
  6. The first model trains I owned were a random assortment of old Triang stock put together by my dad, of which I still own the Nellie, a signal box, and several wagons. My first full train set was this gem, which sadly I no longer own any remnants of, and I got as a Christmas present from my late grandad in 1997 at the ripe old age of 4:
  7. Improve, James. Also hi everyone, I'm back now.
  8. Ultimately all any second-hand scratchbuild can hope for really. Glad I found something of use to you In fact I'd be half tempted to go for them myself if it wasn't for the fact they don't fit whatsoever with the East Anglian setting of my layout.
  9. A long, pointless court case that's dragged on indefinitely for no reason?
  10. No worries mate. I get that you've been busy. And it's not as if any of us are in any rush to be fair
  11. If it's a kitbash or scratchbuild you found out in the wild, so to speak, any scale that isn't a full scale locomotive is welcome. Don't see many 2-2-2s in any scale. Interesting find, Johnson. Also found this beautiful row of Yorkshire style buildings on eBay. Link in the picture as always if anyone wants it. Also this beautiful diorama for any of our Midland modellers.
  12. Well, an A3 running board with splashers would be helpful I also remember you planned to send me an M&GN Class A Rebuild to be KLR No.2
  13. Cheers. When you work in property management and renovation like I do you end up with a lot of that sort of thing. Why you also see a lot of copper wire, wooden dowels and plastic tubes in my scratchbuilds.
  14. The A2 continues. The boiler is an old sink pipe, and the smokebox, chimney and dome are from a Triang B12. Making that cab was a pain as I ran out of NER ones; cab sides, roof and the little step are from the Hornby rebuilt A3 Flying Scotsman, and the firebox and spectacle plate is from the Triang un-rebuilt A1 version (both being the last remnants of the bits and bobs I purchased from @sem34090 about two years ago.) The tender at the back will likely be familiar to you, as it's the one that came with No.9 Edward Bradleigh I and I replaced with a Fowler one, then I used it on No.19 Suffolk Punch (the J17) briefly. It's now sat on a Lima tender chassis with no motor, but I need to work out a proper way to get the wheels to stay in place without the motor assembly there.
  15. I'd put some straps over that cage for the sake of safety.
  16. Lovely hand-built wooden station if anyone needs one. Also a very nice scratchbuilt SDJR 4-wheeler.
  17. Starting to get my mojo back, so here's the chassis for my WIP Raven A2, bashed from parts from about five different chassis.
  18. Now that I have less going on with work I can get back to modelling. Here is the chassis for the KLR's new express engine, a Raven A2. Triang B12 motor and chassis, front bogie from a Triang A3 and the rear bogie from an Airfix Prairie. Cylinders are I think from a Radial Tank of some make and description. I should have an NER tender somewhere for it too.
