  1. I use this handy little 12v iron. it's only 7.5 watts but being so tiny it's very hot 260 deg Fahrenheit. I run it on an old halogen light transformer or a motorbike battery .
  2. Thats would be correct, you could put one in the middle of your bus , electrically its the same, it's across the the track anywhere.
  3. I saw this simple and interesting article on Railway Scenics web page "DCC bus termination/filter". On long DCC bus runs, it could be worth adding a terminator kit to all open ends of your DCC wiring. The termination filter is a relatively simple cheap device that will filter out noise and voltage spikes created by a motors brushes, intermittent wheel to rail contact and intermittent short circuits, and will improve the quality of the DCC waveform by minimizing reflections caused by the open end of the bus. Adding these low cost devices may extend decoder life and improve overall layout reliability. The termination kits we sell, include two components, a resistor and a capacitor. Neither of these items are polarity sensitive. A Capacitor across the two wires will cause a dead short to AC signals, such as the digital waveform used for DCC. The resistor is in the circuit to prevent it from being a dead short between the two bus lines. Has anyone tried it? I'm going to get the parts today will let you know if it works.
  4. New problem now I've configured the new Wlan maus I have lost all my locos in the app! I had 9 locos with photos all programmed in Now they are all gone! the app somehow must have rewset itself when I connected the new Wlan mouse! It's not easy this DCC lark and I've been using Rocco for over ten years .
  5. OK All sorted YEs I feel like an idiot but glad I got there Thanks eastwestdivide
  6. WOW I did it I don't understand how but I got to Sprach. then ENG wooohooo . now to try and get my WIF info in there
  7. I may have to factory reset but agin I need it to be in Eng so I can navigate there! so frustrating.
  8. OK I'm in Helli then I press OK and it says 4!press OK again it says Helli
  9. Hi Thanks I already read the manual the problem is the previous owner used it once and skipped the first language settings so now it is in German and I can't read German.
  10. I bought a new Rocco Wlan maus Black and I can not for the life of me change the language to English. HELP! I think I'm loosing my marbles with this one. I have the older Red Lockmaus but the black one has got me stumped. I'm in LOK 1 =wich is Loco 1 , I can get to menu 3 = settings or it say EINSTELLINGEN! I don't know what that means but it may be language! And then press OK and it says Display, press OK again and it says Helle press OK again and it says 4 I have no idea what I'm doing. Please help, I know I'm going to feel like an idiot,,
  11. I just bought the same item Will be installing it soon. I'll let you know
  12. I have just tried a Pannier with a TCS T1 decoder with the same result could it be a CV error ?
  13. Hi All, anyone come across this problem? I have only three locos running at the moment two Bachmann Pannier Tanks both with TCS DP2X-UK and an Ivatt 4MT with an NCE14 SR . All run well with the LDT Reverse Loop Module KSM-SG-F but when the Panniers run through the track at any speed other than full throttle with the Blocksignalling Autoreverser REV1 that track shorts out and will not run! I have contacted Blocksignalling in the UK but they can offer no advice they suggested it was my loco and at the time I too thought it must be that as my other loco with the NCE chip worked fine. now I took the Suspect Pannier apart cleaned the wheels and pick ups, same deal, so I ran my other Pannier with the same TCS chip and got the same result. So to clarify the locos with the TCS chip will run on the REV1 track at full speed but if I slow down or stop on that section the REV1 module shuts off power to that section.
  14. Update. Thanks every one I have bought a LDT Reverse Loop Module KSM-SG-F. waiting for it to arrive from the UK. Cheers
  15. Hi David , sorry I should have mentioned the pano is distorted and ththe bottom track is not com[plete it will run down to a canal. Your suggestion in blue and red as hell I first had it you can see I removed that point at the left.
  16. Hi All. I am using Rocco z21 start DCC gear and have put down my first level of track . I have a Hornby reverse loop module that Iv'e had for about 14 years. it worked fine with all my other layouts even running 4 loops. I have also used it on the z21 successfully with two loops, that was a couple of years ago. Now I have started a new layout and you can see from the diagram there is a WYE section, this is causing me problems the little triangles are the isolation cuts, any advice would be good. Does anyone think that staggering the isolation cuts in the track would help? The problem is that a loco will run fine through into the main loop see triangles,1+2. but shorts at the far end and the same with the other two sections of track but not always. The last image is a bit distorted.
  17. Thanks for all your replies, I have gone ahead and drawn the layout with my digitals (fingers). on two layers of tracing paper. the size is a bit bigger than the original it's now 5x3 mtr. I have changed the plan to suit my needs and added a through route from the top level on a viaduct that has the option of looping on the top level or continuing down to lower level and back up again. I have put the lower level track Down and have tweaked it to iron out a few problems. I've attached the DCC and apart from the reverse loop on the WYE everything seems to be going okay. Next job when I'm happy with the track I shall ballast and then pull all my staples out.
  18. Thanks Derek, that just what I was looking for Brilliant
  19. Hi Building my switch panel using DPdt MOM centre switches (momentarily on) for all of my 35 Peco point motors but don't want to send more wires to each point motor some of wich have accessory switches controlling the frogs. Is there a way I can keep my LEDs on the panel in the on position when I throw the momentary switch with the use of some capacitors or transistors? I've search the web and these pages but can't find anything, any help would be appreciated or just a simple no. reghards T
  20. Thanks all who replied I am now officially a Numpty. I was thinking my small Turnouts where Streamline! I now realise they are Setrack standard turnouts. apologies Is it possible to delete the topic?
  21. Er Maybe I've made a mistake my small turnouts are probably Setrack standard turnouts!
  22. Thank you Gordon S. A very useful turnout chart. If only Peco would supply something like this its taken me ages to compile a short list with just the code 100 HO peco range. yours is fantastic. I shall print it and keep it handy. However. I seems my small SL 91/92 turnouts are very small measuring only 168 mm long they now are made 185mm long. My medium SL 95/96 points are 185 mm long. which is a shame as I have about 14 small and 8 medium. looks like I will have to go and buy a heap more. Thanks I'm no longer confused.
  23. Hi all. I have got all of my OO Peco Streamline old track and turnouts (35 in all) from storage and I'm starting an ambitious adapted three-level CJ freezer layout. However I think that my old SL 91-92 and SL 95-96 turnouts are now made to a different lengths! is this so? My old SL 91/92 are 168 mm long and the SL 95/96 are 185 mm long. I have searched the webs and can't as yet find any info on this. cheers in advance
  24. Hi I hope this is the right place for this question, I am about to buy Railmodeller Pro and wondered if it's possible to import a CJ freezer design into it? if so how? thanks all.
