  1. Very funny monkeysarefun lets hope Scott Morrison goes to Aussie jail one day soon.
  2. Hi My first purchase from Hattons arrived today and I am very happy. I bought 5 Dcc Decoders listed price was 68 Pounds ( sorry I don't have the pound symbol) Goods Total (Exc VAT): £56.67 VAT: £11.33 Carriage: £3.50 VAT will be deducted from Overseas (Non EC) orders. =========================== Total: £71.50 Invoice Payment Details Amount £60.17 PayPal So that is about Australian $ 108. so thats $21.60 each Bargain! winner winner chicken dinner. i will be shopping again soon.
  3. strangely I had it switched of but somehow it switched it self back on when I reset the z21 so I have turned it off again and yes it did cause me a lot of problems before. but I darent try reading any more decoders I think it has fried 6!that were previously OK.
  4. I have been using the excelent z21 system for a few weeks and it has been flawless, until I tried to read the cv#1 on a few older decoders, I made a decoder tester with a 12 volt dc moter and a few LEDs (see pic) it's basic but has been working fine for about 4 older decoders mainly NCE. the last few days I had great success programming an older NCE N14SR with an orange SME LED to work on the white wire and programmed it as fire flicker. all good for a couple of hours running over a few days, then that loco just stopped and shorted the sytsem!I tested the decoder on my home made tester and managed to reset it to factory default and started again. no joy at all, I reset to the CV1 of my choice but it would not respond, all I got was a short circuit. I think it has blown up . tried a few more older chips with the same problem they would sometimes work then short circuit I have an LED on my decoder tester that indicates that the programme track is live and as soon as I try to read the decoder CV3! it flashes then the current from the track stops but does not indicate a short on the z21 light stays green. I have reset the z21 and quit the app and I still can't read any of those decoders! beginning to think something is quite wrong somewhere. I tried changing the prog track voltage to 12 but no joy. any suggestions would be appreciated.
  5. Hi All, I finaly sorted out the problem! I got onto Rocco through the rocco site that is active as the Z21 site is having Captcha problems. They instructed me to turn off the railcom toggle on the app, I did so and BINGO! all is well in my little train world once again. Even the Hornby RLM works 50% of the time. I easily managed to programme firebox flicker onto F1! Thanks to all who tried to help me on this one.
  6. No problem thanks again for your help,
  7. Hi all, At the risk of being a pain I have posted this before but I can not get an answer and it's driving me nuts! It seems that if you place a loco on the z21 live track it does something strange to older NCE decoders. I have about 12 such locos all are running well but then I added a loco onto the live track and it went beserk same with two other loco's they will not work on z21 even though I have tried reseting the z21 deleting all locos from Multimaus library and resetting the locos Cv#1 and NCE CV#30 back to 2 which should reset the NCE. Done all that and the locos still will not respond to the app or Multimaus. the only thing they do is go full speed when I press the stop button then when I press again to start, the locos shoot off at full speed for two seconds. yet they all work fine on the older Rocco DCC set up! Anyone have any suggestions or should I, A, throw away three previously good decoders or B, flip the z21 to ebay? Any help greatly appreciated. yours sincerely frustrated of Sydney. PS I'm not certain if the decoders are N12SR or N14SR or even D13SRJ .
  8. Hi , Just reading the z21 FAQ and it says you can not share your library from App to Multi maus or the other way so you have to enter every loco twice! is this so?
  9. YEs thats exactly what I'm doing. Now its reading and I found two lococ with the same cv#1 SO Ill go and check all the cv#1 to make sure I am not confusing it . I feel like I am making progres thanks
  10. Yes I have wired a DPDT swicth to isolate the main and use a side track to programme on. but the z21 will not read the decoders! I have reset the z21 but still the those three locos go haywire every time I use the Stop Start function. and as I've explained the issiue with the Hornby RLM. I will try contacting Rocco support again. thanks
  11. Also I dont really want to automate I like the challenge of running three or four loco's at the same time.
  12. I don't have a PC only Apple imac. I just want to change cvs for lights so I can have fire flicker on the main light function on the firebox LED i have installed as I only have steam locos that dont usualy have much in the way of lights. and I want to change aceleration on some locos. Also I don't understand why everything works well with the old system and won't work on the z21. I cant read the decoders on the app. it just says error! BY the way I use a seperate programing track. Oh I just got a message from JAmes Hudson re posting to Australia he has now fixed thr glitch for me, Wow! sometimes the internet is amazing. Cheers again.
  13. PS I tried to order the RLM you suggest but sadly "Unfortunately, there are no carriers available for your delivery address." Apparently they don't ship to Australia.
  14. Thanks so much for taking the time to reply to my question,I am beggining to feel a bit out of my depth, So what is a "detector"? I'm reasonably tech savvy but possibly this is all a bit beyond me! My Hornby RLM works absolutely fine on my older Rocco DCC system as do all of my locos. I will put one of those RLM on pre order it seems they are not released yet on the link you supplied. I managed to programe my Rocco 10764 with many decoders 8 years ago that I installed into HO split chassis loco's but I am an ignoramus when it comes to changing anything other than CV#1 I have tried with the z21 but I just get error messages. Will I have to then get new decoders to rectify the problems the z21 is having with three of my locos that work really well on my old Rocco 10764 DCC system I just don't understand why three of my loco's and the Hornby RLM wont work on the fabulous z21 when they all work seamlessly with the older system I'm begining to wonder if the z21 is for me, everything works fine if I switch back to 10764 dcc system. The z21 has given me nothing but trouble and the reason I bought it was to make programming easier! I've spent untold hours trying to find answers on the interwebs to no avail!and quite frankly Rocco give no support at all. Your my only hope Obi wan. cheers in advance
  15. HAs anyone had problems with the z21 Start and Hornby RLM Reverse loop module? Mine just clicks changing polarity a lot even if all locos are stationary! could it be I need to adjust the track voltage? Also when I picked up a loco and put it on another part of my layout it went mad! motor on full as soon as in touched the rails! then stopped for 5 seconds then zoomed of at full speed for two seconds, then was unresponsive to the z21 control on the app and on the muilti maus when I switched the z21 off and turned it back on the loco did it all again. then I moved another loco and the same thing happened again idientically. ! so I took out the z21 and went back to my old Rocco amplifier and everything ran as it should. the only thing I can think it could be is that the z21 will not work with the Hornby reverse loop module that was clicking on and off even when there was no loco near the reverse loop section. SO I’m back to using my Old Rocco DCC Until I can work out the problem. I have tried reseting the affected locos and re setting their CV#1 but nothing works. I may have to reset the z21 but I'm worried that I will have problems reconnecting to the modem as this happened some weeks back and I had to return the z21 and modem back to the UK for a replacement. Rocco don't seem interested in giving support! No reply after 3 weeks!
  16. Does anyone use a reverse loop module with z21? if so what brand other than Rocco which costs Aus$190 almost as much as the whole z21 package Aus$290. cheers
  17. Hi Re The z21 , I have received a replacement modem and z21 from the UK which all works now thank you all. However when I picked up a loco and put it on another part of my layout it went mad! motor on full as soon as in touched the rails! then sopped for 5 seconds then zoomed of at full speed for two seconds, then was unresponsive to the z21 control on the app and on the muilti maus when I sitched the z21 off and turned it back on the loco did it all again. then I moved another loco and the same thing happened again idientically. ! so I took out the z221 and went back to my old Rocco amplifier and everything ran as it should. the only thing I can think it could be is that the z21 will not work with the Hornby reverse loop module that was clicking on and off even when there was no loco near the reverse loop section. Anyone ever heard of this or any one using a Hornby rev loop module with z21? Zemo Nano : I gave up with the Zimo and am now using TCS DP2X uk wich saves a lot of time with installation as the 8 pin plug is on the back of the decoder. regards all.
  18. I'll look into getting a couple to test out. thanks
  19. I have sent it back to the seller in the UK he is going to replace it ! that will take another three weeks! beging to understand why Roco is so unpopular here.
  20. The Zimo nano decoder comes with a blue and a black wire at the other end of the decoder opposite the harness wires so that it is easy to connect to the stay alive board that also has the same colour wires, I have connected it correctly but it still gives a spurt of speed when crawling along and goes over two of my 10 points, It's strange, I think that this decoder is not compatible with my Roco system. also sometimes it will just stop then a few seconds later start again slowly building up to the set speed.
  21. Hi Thank you. that is interesting. I can connect to the router on my iphone or ipad with the app and the z21 is connected to the router by ethernet cable of which I have tried six diferent known working cables, as far as the code goes apparently it has already been configured and was working and tested before it left the UK for Australia. The Tether app says it is connected to my iphone on 192.168.1.100 the network name is Z21_ 4331 is that correct ?
