Great shot. Nice tinge of colour on the hills, and the sunrays highlighting the nose, very atmospheric.

Great model, really nice to see it at the AGM. Also congrats on the cups, richly deserved I feel.

Looks good Pete, but I agree with Bernard re. the pickup beam height. Now you may well laugh, but it hadn't occurred to me to paint the bases before threading the track - Doh!

Hello Pete,
nice site, great photos. The dries are starting to look really impressive too.

Hello Pete,
supposing that your track now allows engines to run satisfactorily, have you considered hardening up the furry areas of the card with drops of superglue allowed to soak in? After drying hard the card could be sanded, including the infill running edges.
good luck

I put mine on over a really fine coat of well thinned primer, just a blow over really. Settle the transfers with micro set and sol, let the transfers dry at least overnight then blow over again, the backing film is very thin and should get lost in the primer. If you find my WDLR thread in the Narrow Gauge special interests section you can see the results on both the bogie mounted howitzer and the protected 40hp.Simplex towing it. Good luck.

I've been using the Archers transfers for a couple of years now and they are excellent, worth every penny. Use Micro Set and Sol with them.

Would it not be possible to take the pickup strips out of the bogie and mount them on the outside, to bear on the wheel backs?

Very nice indeed. Also the vice is a great find, amazing for the money.

Looking very promising, Pete. Great placement of the main elements, some good views coming up.

Excellent photos, great looking engines and the Kyle station building looks great against the backscene - really convincing. I don't think that you should worry about the difference between the blues, I can remember seeing a large variation in the hues of blue stock.

That looks great, the station building should set back nicely when weathered. I too put in a few years at Fosters and learned to love grey.

Hello Pete,
I like the original too - sorry! Great little layout, though

I've watched this thread with great interest, your 22 is really impressive. Nice job. A little cab detailing would suit it nicely.
