Modelling a traditional parcels train
Gibbo675 replied to Michael Delamar's topic in Modelling musings & miscellany
Hi 45125, I have a book titled, "Looking back at class 24 and 25 locomotives" that shews just what you have described and in some cases where the patch repainting displays two completely separate shades of paint to that of the original making a two tone green livery a four tone green livery. Gibbo. -
Then you will know what fun they are to build !
-
Hi Martin, The DC Kits 101 is a tricky kit to build as getting the sides, ends and the roof to line up is quite difficult for unlike the other kits where the gutter makes assembly much easier. Gibbo.

Detailing the Dublo Cowans Sheldon 45t crane
Gibbo675 replied to jonhall's topic in Modifying & Detailing RTR stock
Hi Esmedune, The crane in your photograph is one of three built for the LMS in 1931. They were originally rated at 36 tons but later uprated to 50 tons. The crab and the stokes bogies are similar enough however the carriage has differing wheel base centres and the LMS crane has three sets of propping girders to the two sets, also differently placed, of the LNER/WD crane made by Hornby Dublo. I shall send you a PM with some drawings. Gibbo. -
You have got to hand it to them !

Hi Johnster, Another chapter of the book you don't seem to want to write !!! Gibbo.

Hi Folks, Luis Elizondo is a rank amateur, you need to look up Bon Lazar for the very best in top quality American nonsense: I had a good laugh at this one as well: Enjoy, Gibbo.

Hi Stephen, Would that be in the objective, subjective or representative states of existential conscious awareness or indeed any combination thereof ? Was Marvin a precursor of transhumanism, I wonder ? Gibbo.

Are the vast majority of them experts ?

Hi Mike, When driving my [white] van I talk to myself on the basis that I'm the only one I can get any sense out of, even when there is actually someone else in the van. I have no choice but to talk to myself when I'm on my motorbike, although only by way of using the voices in my head, because steaming up the visor would be, for no other reason, total lunacy ! Gibbo.

Hi Mike, The thing is, the most advanced instrument I have possession of is my body and yet no instruction manual required, funny old world. Gibbo.
-
Hi Folks, It seems to me that all these overly complicated controls that are fitted to cars require some sort of signage, perhaps even an arrow on the dash board pointing to the side of the road that you are supposed to diving along. Gibbo.

So what exactly are those red blobs ?

What have you done with your Keyser kit
Gibbo675 replied to hayfield's topic in Kitbuilding & Scratchbuilding
Hi Tony, With a fancy drilling attachment and a three fluted bit: Alternatively you could brooch the hole. Gibbo. -
Hi Mike, No its me as well, so that is two of us that may well be called smarty ares, miserable or tight by those that can't think for themselves and spend money on wasteful products. Strange old world we live in. Gibbo

Yes Keith, there is a joke in there somewhere I'm sure: Gibbo.

Hi Stephen, Surely you can't buy customers for otherwise they would be perhaps be products or services, or am I now equally confused ?!?! Gibbo.

Hello Mr Zomboid, Cross winds at about 30* to head on are the most trouble to train resistance. Pointy fronts mostly just look sleek and don't do a right lot to off set those trick cross winds. Gibbo.
