  1. That’s great but the line I’m modelling closed before diesel electric came to Ireland
  2. Good thinking. I never thought about changing an n gauge turntable.
  3. I’ll keep mine purely for show. I’ll probably sell it 30-40 years later to some collecter for a bit of cash.
  4. Yeah but unfortunately due to finer research it is not for me . The turntables on the L&LSR line were the length of a tank engine and no more. Alas!
  5. Does anyone know where I can get a turntable like the ones used on The L&LSR Line in Donegal m, about the length of a tank engine?
  6. I have an Apple iPhone which is great for RMweb on the go. It’s reliable and the battery lasts ages. I also have an iPad and the same can be said. Apple are renowned for good quality stuff.
  7. See my blog for my carn trackplan!
  8. It’s ok. If they want me they’ll email me and my mum isn’t all too keen for the 2 hour drive to Donegal town.
  9. In the section that is definitely staying, 5.
  10. The track plan for carndonagh station is decided. I had to leave out the second goods line for space reasons. Find attached a picture of my track and of the original track. Some parts are to be replaced with new pieces and 2 uncouple units are needed. However I’m happy with the look. Meanwhile Fahan is in doubt due to a lack of room and a wide trackplan. Comment and follow!
  11. The non-DCC option. I just assumed that it was a DCC layout so DCC control was needed. How would you use this non-DCC method?
  12. Yeah. I’ve sent a message to the CDRRS about volunteering in the model railway section. Still waiting.
  13. That looks good, but I’ll need to save for a bit! Even when I was young the thing putting me off was the weirdness and complexity of the wiring (for a 10 year old). If Hornby made a remote like unit to control it and improved the looks it woul be a more attractive option for modellers.
  14. I have heard the horror stories of Hornby steel rail. I would run that mile with you. No, all my track is nickel. I’ve decided to keep the Hornby track and just use flexitrack for the special areas. A bit of weathering and you can’t tell anyway. Saves selling everything and buying it all again.
  15. Many thanks but using ordance survey Ireland I was able to get correct scale, labelled track plans for free (see my blog)
  16. I suppose you’re right. Well done to whoever made this possible!
  17. Personally what I’d really like to see is large manufacturers paying making RTR Irish models.
  18. no, no, no sorry! I could have worded that a lot better. I mean an RMweb App.
  19. Thanks. I think I’ll look into a Dapol turntable, motorised of course.
  20. My favourite vintage car HAS to be the 1910 Ford model T And the DeLorean
