It does have connections for the LED but the switch itself is the DPDT latching version
-
Morning All As you guys are clearly more clued up than I am then I would like to know if it's possible to wire the switch pictured here to do what the standard switch people use for tortoises (also pictured) I've bought some from AliExpress and cannot get them to reverse the polarity no matter what I try They are 3 position switches with a centre off I believe Tia

If the 24s are anything to go by then there are no screws holding the body to the chassis , there are 4 clips holding it on roughly by the rear wheelsets on each bogie , unclip those and it pulls away

Just been chatting to Jennie again as I don't have a login to the online account , she said she will sort it for me but will have to upload all my orders into it as they won't automatically be there , most of mine have been ordered by email so maybe it is something to do with not ordering through the site

I'll take one too , c'mon @Accurascale@Accurascale Fran -
Just been chatting to Jennie and the 24/1's are a while off yet apparently , I'm waiting for 4 of them so not a bad thing as far as I'm concerned as I need to get the money together , between model railways/carp fishing and property renovation this year is working out expensive already , dreading the Heljan 26s coming along as well!
-
I also have some blue ones on order , website is showing early 2024 for one and mid 2024 for the other so I can't see mine arriving together which in my eyes is a blessing with how much they cost , makes getting the money together easier

Time to get serious - New Layout Build - As of yet no name and no plan!

Well , a little more progress has been made , It's turning out to be a bit more elaborate than I had planned originally but chatting to friends this has happened to create more operational interest should it end up going to exhibitions , the plan now consists of 2 platforms , well , one is a bay , a run around loop and 2 sidings + the head shunt -
Have had no issues wit SLW Class 24s or Accurascale Class 37s on the normal turnouts , don't think I had any issues with a new tooling Bachmann Class 20 either
-
Question for those that are using the double slip Are these useable on DCC straight out of the box without having to juice the frogs so to speak? I always attach droppers at either end of each turnout so will loco's negotiate these without stalling wired that way? Tia

Just noted from the Bachmann website this is now showing as July/August delivery

Fran , that's reassuring to know , unfortunately if it doesn't sell and I end up keeping it it's not going to see any use for some time as the current layout build is at a standstill while the railway room gets renovated and the layout is also undergoing a complete rebuild , well , redoing what I started last year anyway lol -

Mine has had very little use on my end to end but is currently up for sale as it no longer fits my plans but if I end up keeping it I also have 2 x spare complete chassis so hopefully if there did turn out to be any issues with the motor fingers crossed at least one would be a good one -

A little more progress over the weekend , as well as the traverser getting a layer of foam board followed by a layer of cork the first scenic board has it's cork track bed I've also managed to get the bus wire and low voltage bus installed on the other 2 scenic boards (not pictured) That's probably going to be it now for a few weeks or so as I'll be getting back on with the railway room renovation at the weekend -
17! I thought I had a problem owning 7 of them with 4 more + 3 x 25s on order!
-
I'm just glad the ones I have on order haven't landed as yet , will be an expensive year this year if all my SLW products arrive!
-
Did Rails of Sheffield not stock those from Greece?
-
Has she arrived yet?

Ok , I know I said layout would be on hold until decorating has been completed but due to lack of funds for materials (floor levelling compound) I decided I would set the baseboards back up (less the traverser) and have a tinker First job was replace the lighting as I was having issues with the previous arrangement (turned out it was due to my own stupidity!) , the lighting has different warm/cold white options Secondly I decided where the 'pilot loco' siding was originally to turn it into another 'branch' to add more running options/interest , I also managed to get the foam board back down on top of this redone section so bar laying some cork and track the first board is prepped , just need to come up with a track plan for the rest of the layout now -

Happy New Year All I'm still here but for the time being layout building is on hold as what started off as giving the room a lick of paint has turned into a bit of a renovation , good thing is though the floor is getting levelled up so will be better for the layout -
I have a good stock of Tortoise motors as is so don't need to spend more money on new motors , thanks anyway
-
Thanks Jeremy , I am keen on using this type of switch and don't want to have to mess around with a layout panel and LED's etc as that's effectively just remaking what the DCC Concepts panel does , there's similar sort of switches available but I have emailed the supplier of the switch I like to see if they offer other variants as I now understand that for a DPDT switch I need 2NO 2NC type Dave
-
Yes I would like to just go 12v DC for the control , I don't worry about controlling the frog polarity
-
Hi John Yes , I am on DCC and have been using the DCC Concepts items mentioned in my opening post but I want to change as I am only utilising half the outputs of them and fancy having a simple switch for each motor on the fascia Dave
-
Thanks ,Yes , this is what I have seen but don't want this type of switch hence asking this question here about the type of switch I posted
