  1. Waiting patiently here to see if any spare 043's become available
  2. The new extension board arrived finally last week , despite getting it almost ready to fit at the weekend it remains unfitted and I decided to get a bit destructive on the previous board , I may make amendments to the first board too , I'm struggling to come up with a solid plan at the moment and my mojo is waning yet again
  3. I came across this site yesterday and they say if you have a unique item in mind to get in touch https://modelrailuk.co.uk/
  4. Thanks , I have in fact got some of those on order with Modelu :)
  5. Thanks , I've been doing some googling this morning and found several suppliers of station lighting , some of them quite similar to what I've found in pictures on Flickr
  6. Very little progress recently unfortunately as I've been awaiting delivery of the extra baseboard which we be here this morning , finally! In the meantime I've been doing a little work on my stock and constructing some laser cut buildings I purchased the Peco Signal Box/Station based on Arisaig The Signal Box is almost complete with the exception of the glazing and fixtures/fittings which are en route this week hopefully , I have also fitted some subtle lighting to it The station is currently on my workbench and may be a while before it's complete as I've made a couple of modifications to it and also paying a bit of attention to the final finish by filling the joins between the sections etc Here's a picture of the signal box in it's current state , the colour scheme is not based on a particular building but after all the layout is fictitious
  7. Morning all I'm currently building a small exhibition (hopefully) layout based loosely on the West Highland lines area , I've recently purchased the new Peco Station/Signal Box based on Arisaig The Signal Box is almost complete and I'm awaiting some 3D printed figures/furniture for this As for the station , well that is currently under construction but I'm looking for a little help with the furniture/fixtures & fittings for this Does anyone have any suggestions for some 3D printed items for the station both internally/externally that would suit a mid 60s-mid 80s operating period? I've made a couple of modifications to the buildings and adding lighting so would like something in the buildings Also , I'd like suggestions on platform lighting , I'm looking at the DCC Concepts Legacy Skyline range but unsure which would be the most appropriate , Swan neck or Gas Lamp Style? Or if anyone has suggestions for others? Tia Dave
  8. Would that make it a Blueray? I'll get mi coat 😂
  9. If it helps I have fitted both of these speakers in the same new tooling 20 , I have however soldered them to the contacts on the board under the original speaker , next time I have the body off I'll get some pics
  10. Looking online it does appear that 430 has a standard lamp bracket , I believe the correct type is on the Vitrains sprue
  11. Further to this discussion I have one on the bench completely stripped down for a repaint and safe to say the mesh lifts off very easily and the fan can be popped out
  12. Sorry but I forgot to check last night , went straight to the work bench and cracked on with a couple of previously abandoned projects , will check tonight though If I were you I'd keep an eye out on Ebay for the Vitrains 37 detail packs as they contain some very useful lamp brackets
  13. I think next time I get some practise time in I may give full on enamel a shot , the only reason I've been thinning it with the Mr Levelling Thinner is because I feel it lays down better and with it being solvent it evaporates very quickly so the drying time is cut drastically , personally if I could get exact matches of all the blues manufacturers use on their models I'd use cellulose for everything simply for the drying times
  14. I've not tried Tamiya stuff , I'm used to spraying solvent based paints and can't get on with Acrylics except for brush painting buildings etc My paints of choice so far have been Cellulose BS381C 114 Rail Blue which is a perfect match for the new tooling Bachmann 20057 , I recently changed the bodyside grilles on mine to the ones with a centre divider and used this paint I also have the different Enamel variations of BR Blue that Phoenix Precision and Railmatch offer which , believe it or not I thin with the Mr Levelling thinner , I haven't actually tried any enamels with enamel thinners yet , maybe I should give it a try I am also finding that none of the colours I have at my disposal match the Accurascale or Suttons loco's I have
  15. The strange thing is I used to spray cars in my early years of employment but have struggled getting to grips with the airbrush even though I bought a pistol grip one as that's what I feel most comfortable with , I've had occasions where I've put down absolutely fantastic coats of primer then it's all gone to 5h*t when I've put colour on! My primer of choice is Mr Hobby Mr Finishing Surfacer 1500 thinned with Mr Levelling thinner , I also use the same thinner in my colour coats , maybe it's just me who's being too fussy after being used to having to put down near glass coats on cars , another good use of the levelling thinner is a light , neat coat of it just after the final coat of colour , levels the finish quite nicely I do have a nasty habit of probably keeping the airbrush too clean , flushing it out repeatedly and stripping it almost completely after each use I will try the thicker to thinner application , I usually thin everything 50/50 or 60/40
  16. This is true , I just worry about spending the money on the Baccy ones and mucking up a repaint whereas for the price of the non sound Accurascale I can just about stomach it if something goes wrong , I have actually got an A/S 37051 stripped awaiting a few final parts being refitted before it goes into primer , I don't think it will get it's coat of blue before I have had some more practise with the airbrush
  17. Website says Autumn whereas the others say Summer so I'd imagine slightly behind the first wave , more 24/1's were on a flyer at the York show and Phil said they would be slightly behind the first batch of the 24/1's too , works for me though as I have 2 x 25s on order , 2 x 24/1s from the original announcement and 2 from the second batch
  18. How are you finding the new Bachmann ones compared to the Accurascales? Having the Accurascales has kinda put me off buying any new Bachmann ones mainly due to the sound , I have a list of 'want to do' loco's and can do a few from 37034/37262 , 262 would need a repaint , I could also use 194 but that would need roof mods to represent a boiler fitted example
  19. Let me check this evening , I may have a couple of scrap noses with them on , they are usually easy enough to push out
  20. Thanks for the suggestions guys , it's certainly food for thought
  21. which clips are you looking for as I may have some?
