  1. ? Irony what that’s mean. Please read the previous comments none actually comment on the announcement but compare to other models prices etc. As always the thread never stays with the original OP but descend into a futile confrontations
  2. Loving it, can’t wait to see the detail in the new Class 50 when it’s announced
  3. Well I’m glad I don’t have to follow this thread anymore as always it’s descended to a meaningless argument instead of actually keeping to the original title with comments regarding the content
  4. Oh dear I feel a quick AY attack imminent. It obvious you haven’t search the menu to see if this topic is current
  5. Providing the shipment is prepped and there is a container and spare shipping it will take 4 weeks to ship and then through customers and shipped out so 7 is tight but possible just
  6. Oh no you know we now have a month of frothing and excitement you really are a bit tormenter and should get an AY ban for this
  7. My early days were at Clay X junction a great place as you never quite knew what to expect. Always loved the Thames Clyde/Harwich-Manchester and the 1V 98 these could throw up all manner of locos. I was lucky that my Grand Parents lived in South Wales close to Newport so most holidays were taken down there with a Rail Rover for a week, this is where my love of WR Hydraulics comes from. In the early 80s I moved to a small village south of Chesterfield where I could see the main line again which then rekindled my love of all things railways, I loved large logo as I could spot from my lounge
  8. Defeats the original question you asked re quality not price
  9. Bachman 47 is the best 47 in the market at the moment, we are all presuming the AC 37 will be the best 37 so it’s a choice 37 or 47
  10. Check out Rail Thing - Western Region Diesel Hydraulics on FB a guy called Marc Koch I think posted some photos dated 20th Jan 1977 some great photos and one @ Chesterfield Station
  11. 56001 as released boring but the very first one. I do love LL but outside of my era but you never know
  12. Seen a photo of D1013 @ Chesterfield Jan 1977 working though to Leeds - fits in nicely
  13. To give a bit of context, material cost increases 1 - July 21 6% 2 - Oct 21 5% 3 - Nov 21 - 6% 4 - Jan 22 14% this doesn’t include shipping costs
  14. You perhaps have missed the news recently, as I stated this is one cost increase, there is increased cost of wages in China, energy costs - currently they can only work 3 days a week due to shortages etc, raw material costs - anything to do with plastic as gone through the roof, coal has tripled. We have seen products increase in price 4 times since July last year
  15. Not sure when they were 800USD it costs nearly that to get from UK port to our yard. I imported from China in June 21 and they were 2900USD which was about the costs but it is correct that they are 18000 USD as quoted for a 40footer on Friday. I am having to add 15% onto all our goods to cover this cost or we have to take an 18K hit on bottom line so it gives you an idea what the additional costs are currently and that is just one cost increase
  16. Ok my thoughts on Hornby and the 2022 releases firstly I don’t do steam secondly I don’t do ultra modern. My layout is WR based between 1967-1974 so pre TOPS both blue and pre blue. I currently have 20+ locos on my MPD and none are Hornby which already tells a story and TBH they have only two models which may fit 1 - A pre tops blue 31 especially a skin head but anything would do or a FGYE head coded 31, these from what I can see have never been produced. 2 - The other may be an un refurbed class 50 as delivered to the WR, again have these been done ( possibly D421 but so scarce). The main issue for me is SK attitude when passing from steam to my era this was poor and shows that the intent to fill the gaps is really none existent. Ultimately I have no desire to support Hornby whilst the other main players are providing my requirements, surely there is a market for this era and models I can’t be alone.
  17. I would suggest that the guys at Accurascale know what it’s all about By now and will have all the details of the vessel original BOL etc when the time is right. It is far too early to know what vessel they will ship on at this moment
  18. Order placed on Modelu thanks Phil for the link may be the first of many
  19. Haha defo golf course there in those days. Also STWA had a yard on the up Sheffield line so loads of water pipes etc can be used there, just before foot bridge.
  20. Shame think of the endless stream of East Mid buses, probably Stagecoach but the CBC ones running up the road opposite not to mention the endless cars, instead just a few golf balls
  21. No chance of this but a pre tops blue skinhead 31 would do nicely, not sure if this has ever been done before
  22. Need the Station Hotel and the Crooked Spire on the back drop thou
