  1. Morning Al, Last question on your instructions its blanked out what colour you used for the main body on the VGA? Regards Julian.
  2. Thanks for that Ian . Hope all is well with you all there.
  3. Marker lights loosely fitted will need a touch of adhesive.
  4. This was more than a challenge. Biggest issue trying to straighten the chassis. Warm water and house bricks helped but it seemed to bend again when I added the sides. Lots of filler on the ends to plug the gaps. Will rub down then spray with undercoat. Ran out of Humbrol primer so will use Halfords. All being well it will have yellow ends not sure what main colour the body is silver would be my guess.
  5. Back from its travels. A rethink on the number as 47631 had a different ETH plug mounted on the buffer beam. Going to order 47436 which had an unofficial tinsley name applied ‘buznak’ hope Steve at Railtec can do it, I can only ask.
  6. Thanks Al, sides and especially the chassis were bent. I have bricks as weights trying to straighten the chassis out over night after a soak in hot water.
  7. Hi Al, Just about to start the VGA, I notice some weights have been included did you find these sufficient? Also the chassis is bent and they suggest really hot water to straighten it out, was this the same when you built yours? Regards Julian.
  8. Sorry to hear your changing scales like others on here was following your build with interest. Good luck with the N gauge layout. Do really love your DMU builds and I too would love a 101 but think what you achieved is beyond me.
  9. Hi Cam, Layout coming along excellently at a pace following progress with real interest. Are the wagons behind the 37 brass kits or resin/white metal cast? Regards Julian.
  10. Everything appears complete. It will stay on the plinth as it will be sent away for the sound install.
  11. Transfers on although the pictures I have of the data panels are white on a black background. Tank needs a dusting of spilt fuel and some picking out of detail still to do.
  12. I have one on the way from Tower with Roger there checking locos before they leave the shop. However that doesn't cover in transit, Heljan should listen to us modellers about packaging that protects very heavy models. When you have spent a lot of hard earned cash you, us expect better. Please listen Ben/Heljan. I applaud Heljan for providing some great models for us ‘O Gaugers’ but there is nothing more frustrating than hearing an unexpected rattle before even opening the box and having to spend more money to return it, if your lucky for a replacement!
  13. The class 60 according to Roger at Tower is on a plinth. My DBC is on route transfers at the ready after sound os fitted.
  14. I to was surprised at the lack of plank expecting the same with the class 60 but Roger at Tower assures me they have a plinth! Mines on route. He mentioned buffers snapping off and before he posts 47’s now he is cutting a tad off the black foam to help prevent the buffers making contact with it in transit and snap off. Tower check locos before posting which is a start.
  15. Reading some of the posts before I opened my latest box up. Something going/gone on in both cabs, not sure what? Very surprised the 47’s not on a wooden plinth. Number one end top handrail under window very delicate and needs reshaping as transit has bent it. No bits appear to have dropped off, fingers crossed.
  16. What a shame visiting Mum this weekend thought Id visit Bourton model railway, doors locked and up for sale. A lovely couple ran the shop for decades, obviously retiring, for the thousands of tourists visiting not enough bought from the shop. If only I had a spare £2 million.
  17. Now theres a unit I would love a regional railways 101 set, is it an easy build kit Cam?
  18. Thanks Hal will check them out thanks for the shout
  19. DPD text me to notify me its been delivered this morning, Im at my Mothers down south so wont see it until Monday. Flush fronts I do like. Dont expect Heljan will do them anytime soon more like a detail kit will follow in due course.
  20. Great news, missed following HG but it appears this mojo thingy is like covid its spread's as its took me a long while to get going again even operating let alone kit building. RM web seems to give me the impetus to get going again. Thankfully. It appears Tower have dispatched my L/Logo 47. It will become 47631 which in the late 80’s was witnessed more than once at Moreton in Marsh on the Cotswold line.
  21. What locos did you drive for that turn? 66’s?
  22. Leaving the BPbranding off mine as there were some that were de branded I have seen. Do like the grey livery too.
