  1. At present I am working in the conservatory. Pics to come...
  2. The track on baseboard no1 is now laid down on the cork underlay (the cat let me finish ) and the droppers installed. The Peco points have been modified with wiring for DCC and the wheel drop inserts fitted. Yesterday four of us from our club, Andy P, John and Peter had a run out to Stafford show. A nice day out. Picked up two Skytrex GWR Rail built Cattle Docks. A bit fiddly, but started build these up last night. On the rolling stock front, I have now purchased a Dapol (ex Lionheart) 64xx pannier tank from Rails as these were on offer and last week picked up my 43xx Mogul from Tower Models at the Bristol show. Fitted real coal to both of these. The layout to now going to be housed (at my wife's suggestion!) in a new purpose built shed in the garden. Cheers, Ade.
  3. I was told this was a sample and they had a few more tweaks to do before final production. Cheers, Ade.
  4. Fitted mine which I bought yesterday. Just the job. Cheers, Ade.
  5. Here are a few snaps of the new 45xx taken through glass yesterday at the Bristol show. As already mentioned in this thread, these are due out later this year. Being bias, I took pics of the GWR livery example. Sorry to the BR boys. Cheers, Ade.
  6. They had a couple of these on display yesterday at Bristol show. I asked when they would finally hit the shops and was told they should be out by Easter. Cheers, Ade.
  7. Saw these yesterday at Bristol. They are really nice. They are worth the wait.
  8. Having see the diorama in person today, I can say that the photos don't do it justice. Nice to meet you Steve. Cheers, Ade.
  9. Picked mine up today. Not run it yet. Hopefully will try it at the club on Tuesday night. One slight problem is one of the number plates is missing and one loose buffer (which was an easy fix). Cheers, Ade.
  10. I am going to buy this controller having being round to Andy's and seeing how easy it is to operate. Cheers, Ade.
  11. Really looking forwards to this show. Hoping to pick up a new Heljan 43xx.
  12. Truly outstanding. Just showed my wife the pics and she thought it was a real wagon.
  13. I picked up a 64xx too yesterday from Rails.
  14. Will you be at Bristol O Gauge show next week?
  15. The review in this month's Railway Modeller does not mention the pick up arrangement. Hopefully there will be some at the Bristol O Gauge show next weekend to examine in person. Cheers, Ade.
  16. Well my attempts at a bit of track laying have got interrupted by a 12 inch to 1 foot scale cat.... He always has to get in on the act. His name is Patch and he only has one eye. He is real character as you might guess! Cheers, Ade.
  17. Been a few weeks since I made an update as we spent two weeks in Egypt over Christmas and New Year. Here is my handy work on the baseboards. My wife did not know I could do carpentry, but now the cat is out of the bag! Need to sort out some joiners next and then the track laying can commence. I have also joined Gresley and Wychnor Model Railway Group this week. Cheers, Ade.
  18. Just picked up my copy of Hornby magazine from Sainsbury's and read the review. They like it. But I was a bit disappointed to read it has electrical pick up from the tender only. One would have thought it would have been all round. Cheers, Ade.
  19. Reviewed here and in Hornby magazine this month:
  20. http://www.bogg7mmexhibition.com/268486974 I am certainly going to this one. Cheers, Ade.
  21. Just adjusted the length of the head shunt on my proposed new layout to take one of these.... Cheers, Ade.
  22. Framework for baseboard No1 is now completed. Basically it is braced down the middle and then across forming eight boxes on the underside of the board, so it should be nice and strong. Picked up a Skytrex GWR tin hut as this is suitable for use at the end of the station platform. This is an "old school" resin and white metal kit which required a lot of filing to get it to go together correctly. Hopefully I should get the framework for baseboards 2 & 3 put together tomorrow. Cheers, Ade.
  23. Hi Henry, that would be great. Thanks. Hi All, the rest of my track was delivered today care of Hattons. Got this laid out on the living floor while my wife is at work. The track plan, naturally with some compression, will fit onto three six foot x three foot boards. Awaiting a call now from the local timber merchants as I ordered all the timber yesterday. Gone for 9mm Birch ply with 4" x 1" softwood bracing. Hopefully this should come tomorrow all cut to size. Hoping to get this built up before Xmas. Track laying and wiring will be started in the New Year as we are going away for Xmas & the New Year. Cheers, Ade.
