  1. Had a run out today to buy some Dapol wagons and then this afternoon built up some more fencing and got them primed plus got the first coat of white paint on one. Also picked up some nice embossed self adhesive brick paper for the cattle dock build. Cheers, Ade.
  2. Thanks for posting this John. These simple little modifications have given me food for thought for my 8750. Cheers, Ade.
  3. Great progress Andy. Did the water tower go together OK in the end? Cheers, Ade.
  4. Sorry to see it has not gone to plan, but the new colours are a vast improvement. Cheers, Ade.
  5. Due to a busy work schedule (as it is coming up to my auction on Friday) not got much done this week. I have sold a few items to fund some more goods wagons though. But tonight I did get some modelling done and have started building the platform fencing from a laser cut wood kit from Poppy's Wood Tech. Cheers, Ade.
  6. Track is now finished on baseboard two as my rail joiners arrived today. Had to play the fun game of find the Peco point spring which decided to jump out.... Cheers, Ade.
  7. Thanks Andy. Got some coming this week via mail order. Got another coat of paint on now. The engine shed will be in line with the Iron minks on the loading bay spur. The 5 plank GWR wagon was often left on the runaround loop line for coaling the engines, according to the book and photos in the book. Kind of odd considering there was a coaling stage under the water tower behind the engine shed. Here is a quick snap. Cheers, Ade.
  8. Had a good afternoon today. Track is virtually laid now on baseboard No2. Bar the two points leading to the goods shed siding and loading bay. I ran out of plastic insulating rail joiners... Also got a coat of brown paint on. Worked out the location of the engine shed, which is really my datum for where the home signal, platform and loading bay will sit. I now have to cut the inspection pit for the engine shed. Cheers, Ade.
  9. I am thinking of buying one, but doing a respray in plain GWR green with no insignia, bar perhaps a numberplate and number on the buffer beam? What do you guys think? Cheers, Ade.
  10. I thought I would update this thread with some pics taken at Kettering last week showing the pre production samples on Dapol's stand. Cheers, Ade.
  11. Here is a link on GWR wagon liveries: http://www.gwr.org.uk/liverieswagongrey.html Hope that helps? Cheers, Ade.
  12. Spent a pleasant couple of hours over at Andy's last night while he was working on this. I had not even thought about adding this detail to my layout, but this has given me food for thought for the future. Cheers, Ade.
  13. I am planning a trip up to this show after being advised it is a good event. Cheers, Ade.
  14. In the Guild PDF, this is mentioned about spacing on curves: Note: The Guild Standard track centre distances are 80mm between main lines and 90mm between sidings. Additional spacing may be necessary on curves, refer to Part 2, Section 1.3. The track centres shown in the table above include a 3mm allowance for the width of the rail-heads. But I don't have part two section1.3 to hand. Checkout the Guild site. Hope that helps? Cheers, Ade.
  15. Baseboard 1 painted with two coats of "Leaf Brown".
  16. Just to put minds at rest here is a quick snap of the track. 42mm between each rail. Thanks again the concerns raised. You guys are great. I really like the helpful and supportive atmosphere here. Cheers, Ade.
  17. Thanks! I got two coats of the brown paint onto baseboard one last night and also modified two Peco points adding the wires. Cheers, Ade.
  18. Just had an email from Rails and they seem to have all versions on offer at £575. Cheers, Ade.
  19. Hi Tony, thanks for the comment. I think it is just the pic as I took the sizes from the O gauge Guild Guide. http://www.gauge0guild.com/manual/07_d7_1_1.pdf Cheers, Ade.
  20. Got the coal load fitted to the Jinty as well tonight. I have some brown paint being delivered tomorrow so I can prime the baseboards ready for when the scenic's get started. Which won't be for a long time yet I know, but it will still be progress. Getting a quote for a concrete base for the log cabin this week.
