  1. Yesterdays stock purchases along with some nice buckets from Chris & Chris at Minerva. I had some gun metal powders in stock and this has worked well on the bucket. The fire iron needs some rust I think. The Cannock Chase wagon was a must, as my good lady hails from there.
  2. Got the lamp hut basic colours done now. But will need some weathering to finish.
  3. A few shots of another GWR layout. Apologies to the owner, I have forgotten the name.
  4. A final shot of the engine shed. The layout could be switched from DC to DCC.
  5. The superb detail done to the interior of the station building. They kindly allowed me around the back of the layout for a better view. The engine shed is a work in progress as you can see. The shed doors will be servo operated at some point in the future.
  6. LOL I didn't notice that. I think the light made the h into an n.
  7. A few more of Harbourne St.Mary's. The flower beds on the platform were nicely done.
  8. Some pics of the rather nice Harbourne St.Mary's layout. I was impressed with this one. Had a nice chat with operators and the chap who made the superb buildings.
  9. Spent yesterday at Kettering show. Added some pics of the latest Dapol O gauge developments in the products forum. Got the cattle dock painted with a first coat of paint to the base, but the rails are now done. The lamp hut has got a first coat too with some Railmatch paints I picked up yesterday.
  10. One more shot I forgot to add.
  11. Here are a few pics from Kettering yesterday.
  12. Here is a shot of the 14xx prototype body which was on display yesterday at Kettering O gauge show. Cheers, Ade.
  13. Again saw these at Kettering yesterday. They have a nice bounce to them. They are altering the lights on them. I will certainly be buying three.
  14. Been to the show today and had a great time. A well run event which was easy to get to and easy parking outside. Came away with a bag, well two actually, full of goodies. Well done to all concerned. Cheers, Ade.
  15. Hi Steve, I had to look twice to see if it was a real photograph or your model. It just goes to show how you have captured the look of the actual cliffs. Cheers, Ade.
  16. Looking forwards to Kettering O gauge show tomorrow

  17. I like how you have colour matched the shrubbery to the colours on the backscene. Nice work. I wish I was retired so I could get on with my layout. Done an 11 hour day today....
  18. The cattle dock is now built and is primed up as is the lamp hut. Marked out for the track on baseboard number two and starting gluing down the cork underlay.
  19. Finally got the first half of the cattle dock built up. These were built from old Broad gauge rails. As I mentioned in another post, it is a bit of a fiddly kit, as you have to cut each rail to length to start with. The worst aspect is making the upright posts. You have to file the top of the rail down to form a 2mm long foot which you then glue to the resin base. Not the strongest system and there can be no temptation to fit the side rails until these have set firm! Once I have got the other one built and joined to this one, I need to make a brick base (with wooden steps) for them to sit on. Originally these were painted white, but later the regulations changed and they were simply sprayed down after use with disinfectant.
  20. Thanks for the advice guys. I don't think my soldering skills are up to a brass kit yet. Cheers, Ade.
  21. Actually I am surprised none of the RTR manufacturers have produced a Toad, given the amount of GWR kit on the market. I have been looking to buy one, so which kit would you recommend as best? Cheers, Ade.
  22. Thanks Andy. This is the one I am going to model. D2196 was the last engine to run on the line.
