  1. Off to the GOG Show at Kettering.

  2. I will do a swap around. Wish these instructions had better diagrams .
  3. Built up the LMS Meat Van kit this week and this afternoon given it a coat of primer.
  4. Two new wagons added to the fleet after yesterdays trip to Doncaster show. The Macaw H is one of Jim’s kits, while the Fish van is from WEP. I do like to build my own kits but these were so well made and painted I could not refuse. Especially at what I thought was a bargain price of £121 for the pair. They would cost more that that to buy in kit form. Also picked up another Peco Parkside kit this time an LMS Meat van to build, again good price of £36.50. I have posted some pics from the show in the exhibition forum. Cheers, Ade.
  5. Very enjoyable trip to the show yesterday. Arrived early and I too was surprised at the size of the queue to get in. Some very nice layouts. Being an O gauge modeller most of my pics were of the 7mm stuff. The S scale layout was interesting. I liked how the scale works out track wise. But some OO pics included. Sorry don’t seem to have took any N. And there were some great layouts, sorry on that. I too must reiterate the comments re the Anoraks Anonymous stall. One very satisfied customer here. Usual disclaimer applies. Two well made and painted brass kit built wagons for £121. Will show them later in my layout thread. Plus a keen priced Parkside LMS Meat wagon kit from Pennine for £36.50. As ever with shows great to chat to people and get inspiration. I would certainly attend again. Well done to all involved. Cheers, Ade.
  6. Bacon cob for breakfast now, all set for Doncaster show today.

  7. The GWR wagon is now in primer. The LMS Brake Van build is slowly progressing with lamp brackets and running boards now in place. Roof plonked in place for the photo.
  8. I have a BSA Parabike in my militaria collection. Ridden mine from the DZ to Arnhem Bridge in full kit. I have restored two others. Currently have one coming up in my next sale at work. Estimate is £1000.
  9. Out in the garden this afternoon with Patch.
  10. Will check on Dad’s meter on Thursday. Thank to everyone for the kind and helpful advice. Cheers, Ade.
  11. Thanks. They say the bill is based on the meter reading.
  12. Having a nightmare with my 88 year old Dad’s supplier EDF. Dad paid his last bill in full on Dec23rd. His home is all electric. He has a smart meter installed and I can track his usage via the app on my phone. He has just received a bill for the period Dec 23 to Jan 23rd. There is a discrepancy of over £300 compared to what they are asking for compared to figures shown on the app. Having “spoke” with them today via their chat app they are adamant the bill is correct and is for useage and not an estimate. How can this be? What is the point of a smart meter. Formal complaint going in tomorrow 😡
  13. These came into work today. They certainly beat a plastic lanyard you would probably get today when attending a conference. The quality of a bygone age. One is pin backed while the other has a button hole stud fastener. Cheers, Ade.
  14. Had an enjoyable morning at the show. The bacon cons were excellent. Mike had to go out to buy more supplies as they were so popular! I tried to take some pics of each layout. I have posted these in Neil’s layout thread in the 7mm forum.
  15. Another un-named layout would have like to get more pics of this one.
