  1. Thanks to all. I shall look into a sprog??
  2. I once had a loksound lokprogrammer but hardly used it so sold it! Now I need to read cv values so I can make some changes to sound volumes etc and things like cv3 values. Currently I only have std Bachmann dynamis. Though I'm happy with how it works. Though I can program with dynamis ( via handset) I cant read values. I'd need a pro box for that which would also be a back up of course. It's about £130 I guess another lokprogrammer (£140 ish) will allow me to read and possibly move sounds from one slot to another?? I e. Be great for example to move all brake function keys to f5 etc so each sound project is easier to remember what is where on. What other options are there? What's Sprog ?? How does that work?
  3. I was going to paint the regulator red but decided it wont be seen so left it as is.
  4. Auto coach today Not happy with my "light" roof weathering so its leave that till tomorrow? At least being powder its eady to wash off and start again. Non viewing side of coach weathered. In theory once the 14xx is finished ( buffer beam numbers and power pack) then the pairing wont need to be touched as it will permanently be on the layout or cassette bar for travelling to exhibition. Got a selection of passengers and once I removed the speaker enclosure a couple of milk churns have been picked up to drop off at Cwm risca to be sent off in the express milk train collection! A driver pencilled in for the upcoming ( easter 2021 ?) Dapol 45xx is now employed as autocoach driver It did occur to me I'm missing a guard so another modelu order is due !
  5. Seems the esu power pack mini 54671 is a bit hard to find in uk right now? So for fitting to v4 or v5 esu sound chips ( fittedin 0 gauge locos) what other alternative are there? The simplest ones to fit I'm interested in like the esu that is just 3 wires etc.
  6. So.if you dont tell a v5 chip you have added a power pack, the power pack is not working??
  7. I'm not usually a fan of things you cant debut I have to say 0 gauge flickering firebox do actually show up quite well. I like this fireman as he is bent over shoveling into the firebox and he is lit up well by the flicker on the 14xx.
  8. I've not done anything yet! Its someone else 57xx idea. Cheers Great thank you
  9. Any tips on cassets for 0 gauge?? What size angle iron / aluminium? 25 x 25 x 2mm big enough or bigger is better? Train lengths are only about 30 inch / 2ft 6 at longest? Thank you Simon
  10. Although I've got an airbrush I've never used it ! All my weathering is with usually powders. May use the airbrush around the wheels / frame as powders and pick ups can be a problem! Brave times ahead with the airbrush??
  11. Auto coach weathered on one side to start. Flash photo makes it look a bit harsh compared to natural light. Passengers and a " driver" to be added tomorrow??
  12. Fireman checks ahead having built up plenty of pressure. Crew have light weathering with powders to tone down the paint.
  13. Driver awaiting signal clearance. He have a wait it's not plugged in today lol
  14. Bit of blue tac for the modelu lamp and numbers for the buffer beam. Then weather the buffer beam and remove a bit of the " brown" frame dirt??
  15. Been doing some little jobs over the last few days. Painting crew for the 14/48xx and pannier plus passengers for the auto coach and station. I've also been making a list of "little" jobs to do on the layout. It's a list that got bigger each day lol. Though most of the main work is done its the detailing / little jobs that will add to the scenes over the next couple of weeks? Only big jobs left are fiddle yard and cassettes and potentially start the " engine sheds" board for 2022 exhibition? Oh and sort back drops! Will source some new thin plywood for those? I've always liked to change my layouts for exhibition use so each year its seen there is something new and I've not kept any layout more than a few years. I really think some layouts get milked to death always at same shows year after year and frankly I find that quite boring if I paid to enter! Thus 2022 is a good target for the engine shed as I likley to have plenty of locos to fill it by then lol. Indeed the planned 4ft may end up as a 6ft extension. Or 8 ! The 48xx needs buffer numbers and some real coal added. Did a bit of light weathering on it and one side of the auto coach today. Best bet is now not to look at them till tomorrow! If I'm still happy then passengers can be added to the auto coach and other side lightly weathered. 48xx I'm fairly happy with but may actually clean it up a bit. I have the 14xx on pick up goods if I want a bit heavier weathering? Got to fit speakers and stay alive first though.
  16. Looks good Have you had a test session to see how the play factor is?
  17. I dont believe it !! I'm sat here thinking about a(nother) 61xxfor birthday in April. You may just have tipped the scales and cost me money again. Might even see this one run lol Just the 1 speaker fitted? Whos sound project is it??
  18. The farm workers train. Not allowed to use the main platform its shunted into the milk loading dock !
  19. Express milk train starting out at a more sedate local pace
