Have watched both episodes and got bored by the droning on of Picards aid trying to explain something I couldn't get to grips with but having said that I will stick with it and watch it develop.
I enjoyed both series of discovery and the second one just got better and better so really looking forward to the 3rd series.

So going off topic a bit but in 1830 what was a rocket. To me the name conjures up images af apollo 11 and fireworks and stuff but back then this stuff wasn't about so what was the engine named after ,what image did the name conjure up for the 1830's population?

I have only read that the collectors club members will be getting the new releases leaflet. I am a member of the collectors club but how is everyone else going to find out I guess Bachmann will put on their website, on here and via the magazines has anything been announced about their intentions?
thanks

From Google Maps I'm guessing the line would run on the East side of the A585 and terminate in the wasteland South of the Three Lights Roundabout. Not right next to the town but actually quite convenient walking distance from the residential area. This is important because the branch would likely be a source of traffic rather than a destination. However I'm not convinced a town the size of Fleetwood will justify its own train service.
Yes that is my understanding it would be fairly close to the tram line as well but having lived and worked in Fleetwood I can tell you the people of Fleetwood don't like to leave Fleetwood! Would love to see the railway back and if it could be extended further down towards the outlet village this could generate a bit more traffic and be closer to the Main Street.
-
Part of the difficulty with Fleetwood is where could the station go because of building going on the station would be quite a way out of Fleetwood town centre. Despite this the A585 into Fleetwood which is not dual carriageway struggles to cope with the daily traffic so if anything could help relieve this it would be welcomed.

I am sure Hornby will clarify the situation before the release date which is 11 months away.
I am sure you are right but I like to be organised! Pre orders in can forget about it until release now!

The coach sets with no suffix complete the 5 car set plus you need the extra power car ( full yellow ends)
The coach sets with an A suffix complete the 7 car set (black mask on ends and includes second power car and test coach)
Thank you Paul, are any of the Coach packs duplicated in the 7 car pack do you know?
-
Do we know yet what vehicles each pack will contain and which add on packs to purchase. I have pre ordered the 7 car pack and reckon I would run a 10 car train.

Last time I checked it said April 2020... I don't think a pinch of salt would be sufficient, but you never know!
I tend to take the view that "it'll get here when it's ready" - I've got so much on pre-order that I'm always paying for something, and as long as everything gets here in the end I don't mind which order it turns up in! Having said that, only the GWR Steam Railmotor has been on my "pre-ordered" list longer than the 117...
Thank you for that I had a January delivery in my head for some reason. To be fair the class 158's arrived early. I think Bachmann do their annual stock take around now to check what's in the warehouse unless the new computer system has rendered this obsolete.

I have my combined volume and after a quick glance it is just Models previously announced I did not spot any new liveried items. So having read the letter I am still a little confused.
Are we every three months going to get a leaflet detailing new releases which means new tooling and new liveries on existing tooling?
Does this combine therefore replace the old catalogue so next year we get a new combine including the new models which have been released over the past year?
Maybe all will be explained in February and at this event will we find out what the new liveried items for the next 3 months will be?
What if there is nothing to be announced over the 3 month period?
I suspect no one will know but will wait till after Feb then pose any questions to Bachmann.

Haven't oxford rail been rumoured to be producing a class 86 for the last 3 years or so? Something to go with all those Mk3 coaches. (Probably more mk3's)!

Err I still don’t think people have quite got that February announcement will be about EXISTING projects .
The impression I had from Andy's post is that it is existing products and reliveries but there may be new announcements if they are far enough along the development process. If this is not the case will Bachmann just announce new products as we go through the year? I would agree though I can't imagine there would be anything more than the odd brand new model announced like last year was there just one new Wagon announced in OO?
-
I cannot recall Hornby ever saying they have looked at a model and discounted it until the class 91 so it would not be unreasonable for cavalex to think it would be safe to do. The whole Hornby 'it's our model thing' is ridiculous it seems they only think it applies to them in their favour.
Am looking forward to both 91 models but would suggest the 89 as an alternative if appropriate.

Mine got delivered from their cross country tour the other day. I have the drs packs and am seriously impressed with the little Wagons and ideal for an authentic short train. Looking at the quality of these and the cement Wagons I am really looking forward to the Deltic.

Just been checking the voyage of my order on the Royal Mail website and found it has gone from Peterborough to Edinburgh but apparently it's on its way. Considering I live on the fylde coast it's probably gone past the turn off to come back again!

Just wondering how it will work DCC wise -will Hornby go for 3 chips or will it work off 1. I suspect Hornby may not be sure themselves yet though.

No idea how I'm going to justify buying one. Does rule 1 stretch to an APT on 1939 Great Eastern?
Yes!

Is all of his work worthless?
How do you know Hornby didn't purchase his CADs from the creditor/bailiff, or that they didn't respond to the reaction he generated after announcing his one? Any such information would be unlikely to be made public.
It has been stated several times that his cads haven't been used and it's Hornby own work although they may have seen the reaction to his proposal/ announcement and thought the model may be viable after all but he would not have received any money for this.

Regarding DJM I kind of keep hearing the voice of darth Vader in my head saying 'now his failure is complete'. The apt is now being produced without the use of his cads and most of his other models have been duplicated so in theory all his work is worthless. Sorry maybe just me being bitter!
Anyway back to the Hornby apt, due December so I wonder where they are with it hopefully something will appear in the engine shed soon!

Just realised in all the excitement no Ivor the engine tie in booooooooooo!

I realise there may be pent up demand (me included) but they haven't announced anything to put at the other end of the mk three intercity dvt unless they are relying on purchasers of the previous Hornby and Bachmann electrics.
-
Have pre- ordered the 7 coach set in my excitement but will await further details before ordering anymore but also I want black window surrounds so may be cancelling what I just ordered!
Mega excited though which is quite sad for a 48yr old!

According to the collectors club mag they are at Livery artwork stage but I guess we now may not know when they are due until they appear in the 3 monthly announcement.
