I found on my recording 2 lots of adverts were missing (not that I am complaining.
I see they made railriders to be the 'baddies' but both me and the missus independently thought Simon came across like David Brent from the office but I was surprised to see one of the team members smoking when they were having a chat. I thought there may have been rules not to show smoking in a program kids could have been watching.
I really couldn't choose between railmen of Kent and whose counting rivets both teams deserved to win.
Hope there is a third series.

Thank you to everyone who has taken part without them there would not have been a show. I have a face suited to radio so not for me.
I do think though that the scheduling changes suggest that the show hasn't been as successful as they would have hoped and a third series is at risk but time will tell.

I think it was more of a change of direction rather than reversing, the diesel from Blackpool would be on the South end of the train then it would come off and an electric would be put on the North end for the journey North.

Hi Ian
i think the service in the later days was run with a unit like a 158 although you could well be right.

I think at one time trains from Blackpool north reversed at Preston to reach Glasgow although I never travelled on one.

Where does it say it's in stock, It still says pre-order but I maybe missing something
It said on the website in faint grey letters under the order button -50 in stock but weirdly I can't find the page now!

According to the slw website class 24 experiment is now in stock- anyone received theirs yet?

I am curious about the switch to Saturday night although I suspect no one here will know the answer however.
Is it an attempt to ensure a third series does not follow as I believe I have read some figures are down on the first series so by putting it up against the main Saturday night programs viewing figures are further affected. In my house strictly takes priority (well the wife does) so this program is relegated to catch up.
Or
Has it been moved to Saturday night because it is popular therefore attracting more revenue from advertising. While figures may be down it may be more popular than what was previously in the Saturday night slot!

Hi Mark.
Quite a long answer to do it justice. But as briefly as I can, I cut the centre out of the APT bogies and glued in the Heljan bogies. I mounted a rectangular speaker outlet side down in the centre of the bottom half of the body. On this I glued a u shaped aluminium cradle into which I fixed the Heljan motor. I extended the driveshafts using copper tube. The top of the inner lugs on the original bogies are too tall and were cut off and lower lugs were fabricated from thin brass. The picture may assist. I used contact adhesive to stick the original outer bogie frames to the new bogie towers. I fashioned an additional platform from aluminium to carry the DCC chip. The cradle is stuck on top of the speaker using several layers of double sided tape. The chip platform is glued with superglue.
If you need to know more please PM me and I'll do my best to assist.
Thank you that's brilliant
cheers

How did you fit the class 33 motor parts inside the narrow body of the apt power car?

Never say never.
The announcement was alledgly cancelled at the 11th hour last year. If it has not progressed sufficiently in the meantime then in my opinion a decision has been made for financial reasons not to proceed at the present time. Of course it could also be that the project is been kept underwraps until it is well underway. I hope it is the latter.
It is definitely not a rumour. Work was done. Whether it stopped I do not know but after a year of silence, again in my opinion, if it does not get announced at Warley, then something has changed.
Sorry to drag off thread but announcement by who? Updated Bachmann or someone else?

Interesting video and a lot of testing going on which makes me wonder where the issues occurred with the class 90's as I would have thought it would have been picked up at barwell. I had 6 I had to send back before they were sorted.

I thought there was little railway too with most of the emphasis on the effects but appreciate most of the people watching would be happy with a roundy roundy with not much authentic operation to start the hobby with. I guess the animations make it more interesting for the prime time tv audience it's aimed at who may be bored without the gimmicks.
I wonder what the viewing figures were and I guess the true test is how may view next week (i.e. How many have been turned off).
But just to say I really enjoyed it!

So what is the process will I get an email to pay the balance then Model posted once paid?

I was quite surprised when this was announced I though Keith had previously mentioned some of the more obscure loco classes along the lines of the GT3 so didn't think stuff like this was on his radar. Don't fancy this one myself but I guess if he is looking at modern stuff too will have to keep an eye out.
-
Liked the episode but the false jeopardy grates every time- will they get the loco there on time? Errrr yep they will again!

There is a countdown clock on the website which suggests the announcement will be made in 18 days. Not sure if I can stand the anticipation!

The tooling no longer exists, so another run of the old model is not possible.
Can't be a resurrection then!

As the thread is called apt resurrection and is in the Hornby part of the forum I thought we were talking about the 5 car Hornby model maybe with new motor, would anyone be happy with this or as has been mentioned in the thread are more coaches essential. Would it sell in the5 car format?

I think credit for pulling the plug if the project is not viable before costs mount up.
However I think it's a little embarrassing when it was this announcement which was the subject of an announcement of an announcement involving a countdown clock and being asked on Facebook 'if we are getting excited yet' so great fanfare now damp squib.
Think I have deja vue!
