I agree if Dave had made clear the IP he was referring to was the cads he had produced already then said something like 'I've got an idea what if we all did this to protect our models etc' then I might have some sympathy.
It seems an incredibly bitter rant with fingers pointing blame at everyone but himself. Is he suggesting that when he was commissioned by various shops to produce models they later dropped him but continued to use his developed cads. Is this true or not or just his perception.
We may never know but I think one of the shops dropped him due to lack of progress.
so much for the announcement but I was right, wrong Scale ,Gauge and Livery for me and my wallet rests easy!

I suppose now if DJM does go bust it would stop another manufacturer getting hold of his tooling in China and releasing them under their own brand.

I wouldn't have thought the burden of proof would be on him to prove his interlectual property (which he has produced) has been copied. If another company demonstrates their own cads and process through to production then how can it be his interlectual property.
I wonder if he actually consulted a lawyer

Another thought he has just said he has IP'd all his models including some not yet announced. If anyone knows how to navigate the system we could find his release plans for the future.

Intellectual property (IP) is something unique that a person physically creates.
So would he have to prove the new cad is a copy of his rather than one produced by someone else? I did love the comment in the first bit about a persons word being his bond! So when was my class 92 due Dave?

I am proper confused does this mean that no one can reproduce his designs or as he seems to think no one can reproduce a model he is producing?

Do we have any more clues as to when the class 90’s will arrive?
It was indicated they were at sea or about to ship on the 5th march so maybe they should be here by now although I wonder if Bachmann are waiting for th chip to arrive and release the two together to avoid servo burn outs.

Or maybe he's going to work for another company who will be taking his portfolio of models and producing them under their own brand such as Hornby.

Sorry I was just asking about the requirements of companies house rather than DJ specifically (although I did use him as an example) will try a google search!
And back to the announcement of an announcement (again)!

Looking at the companies house statement Dave provided last year as an example- do we just see a statement with more thorough accounts provided to companies house because at a glance it looks like you add up the money in your business account to the estimated value of your physical assets and take away your out goings and there's it is. I am sure it's not that simple and companies house would want more than that because if it is that simple why would you be late with it?

I have long thought he needs help someone to do his marketing /promotion etc while he produces the models in the background although this would be more wages etc. I believe people in the hobby have offered to help him but were turned down.

Well, no one is forced to buy his models. If you dont like them, dont buy them.
But that's the issue you can't buy them seen in the shops we have crowdfunded on blind faith.

Wow there is a lot of vitriol on this thread. DJM have produed some good products, an Austerity that betters its predecessor, with a huge range of detail variations and introduced crowdfunding to Model Railways, as well as carried out high quality production runs for KMRC of the BWT. The guy is an enthusiast putting his money (and other people's money) where his mouth is, which is more than nearly all of the contributors to this forum (excusing the manufacturers or employees on here!).
I agree well done to Dave for putting his own money in however no one held a gun to his head to do this -he could have walked away and done something else less risky. And no I haven't remortgaged my house to make my fortune in model railways but that is not where my skills are. If my comments came across as vitriol then I apologise.
Anyway back to the announcement of an announcement!

Bet it's a class 66!

Pity he didn't go for May 4th and a Star Wars tie in - no idea what though. To be fair we haven't had an announcement from anyone in over a week so one is due!

Oh I know he got his accounts in on time (that didn't last long did it)!

So not wanting to be a nare do well can't see it being a dj only new product considering slow progress of current portfolio so I reckon a tie in with a shop or something.

Has there been an email about next payment I think it was suggested it would be asked for about 4 weeks ago!

Also considering the wording in Andy's post above are Bachmann planning some kind of launch for the models or will they just send out to retailers as usual without ceremony?

How much for the decoder currently considering dropping my pre order from 2 to 1 of the class 90's!

Livery samples now would point to a 2019 target for release, surely?
Maybe just in time for Christmas.
We have had Livery samples for the class 90 for quite some time. I think the hold up is more likely production slots.

Thanks so when will the Bachmann decoder be available? Or can I use a normal 21 pin decoder and just not use the pantograph until the Bachmann one is available? Or can I not use the model until the decoder is available.

Well he hasn't said the models have been cancelled so in theory we crowdfunders should get a request for the next instalment.
whether I pay it is another matter!
