    Hi Paul,

Thanks for the details - much appreciated.

I've checked back and I didn't pay those prices!

Payment records (from bank) show I paid £120 plus p&p for each 4 pack - I had pre-ordered them as soon as the announcement was made.

    Thanks

    Phil H

Looks like Kernow honoured a pre-order price for you.

Given the massive changes in inflation and world trade since Kernow’s release, I suggest that the new rrp is quite reasonable.

    Hi

Really good to catch up with you today & enjoyed our chats & watching the layout perform ........

You have really done a great job with the layout adding improvements to the yard (the flood lights on the Linhay & the point levers to name but two ) & the station is a great addition both visually & adding to the operational interest.

I'm really glad you're enjoying having it as I enjoyed building & exhibiting it & would have hated to have broken it up as I have had to with other layouts.

I look forward to seeing it in operation again....

    Cheers Bill Douglas

    Hi Bill

Thankyou for your kind words.  I really enjoyed the show and catching up with you.

I’ve got some minor snags to sort out but the layout ran really well over the weekend. It also gave me the opportunity to run my China Clay stock.

    Regards,

    Andrew

  3. My friend David and I have been repairing a 156 bogie and have put everything back together.  We are using DC control.  The interior lights in one car are not working.  We are trying to work out which connection may be loose.  Can anyone identify where we need to be looking?

    Many thanks in anticipation,

    Hi,

Great layout with an interesting track arrangement. I really like the road/rail bridge. I too was scratching my head a bit about access to the station before Wednesdays photo!

Thanks for sharing and hope the show went well.

    Regards

    James

    Hi James

Many thanks for your comments.  Yes, the show went really well.  I have a couple of dry joints and coupling issues but enough of my personal problems.😀😉

Nice layout - I love anything China Clay related!

I'm struggling to get my head around the trackplan - is the station on the high level and the clay sidings beneath?

    Matt

    Hi Matt

    Thanks for your kind words.

Take a look at the photo that I have attached in my reply to Cam to understand the track plan.

    Regards,

  6. I’m taking  Carlyon Dock to the Helston Model Club Springtime Show at Pool School this weekend.  I am both super excited and super nervous.  My good friend David Sibson is going to help me operate along with Daniel Harris, Darren Glasson, Nigel Glasson, Mick House and other fellow members of Redruth Model Railway Club.  If you are in Cornwall, please come to the Show and say ‘hello’.

    Hello everyone,

During this week the amended production samples arrived with Ben at Revolution which were then sent up to us in Scotland for final approval. The factory in China have done a great job getting the slight revisions made to improve the colour density in a couple of areas. I was really pleased opening the box for the first time and seeing the difference this has made.

Whilst none of us wanted this slight delay it really has been worth the extra couple of months to get the finished wagons up to the standards we want to see as modellers ourselves. They are now ready to leave China and we are just waiting on shipping schedules and estimated delivery to the UK.

If you’ve not ordered yet, we still have all 19 wagons available and orders can be placed now ready for despatch when the wagons arrive into stock with us.

Thank you to everyone who has ordered already, we will post further news of delivery dates soon.

    thank you

    Mark

    Rainbow Railways

    Thanks Mark

There is a gap on ‘Carlyon Dock’ that needs filling with these wagons.  It will allow the slurry loading facility to do some work!

Very impressive.  Did you use powders? (I have to tackle some Cemflos and am not quite sure how best to do it!)

    Hi uk_pm

I first sprayed a light coat of ‘weathering brown’ - a 50/50 mix of Precision Track Dirt and Brake Dust.  I then used Tamiya Weathering Master set B (white and rust) applied with eye shadow applicators.

    Hope that this helps.
