  1. Just got an email and part in stock. Many thanks for the help.
  2. Thanks for that. Had dropped them an email but no response as yet.
  3. Picked up a decent Class 108 (or so I thought) and was wondering why it would not move despite the motor running fine. Thought the carden/drive shaft had came adrift, stripped it down to find it missing !!!! If anyone has a spare it would be appreciated.
  4. I picked up a nice secondhand Heljan Class 26 and gave it a short test run (on anologue) and all was well at all speeds. I gave it another test run a short time later and it ran okay in one direction but very slowly in the other. Pulled the body off and nothing obvious wrong, changed the blanking plug as a precaution. Further test runs still have this intermittent slow/loss of power in ONE direction only, but not the same end. I have detected a very slight burning smell although the loco has not ran for some while. I'm using a guagemaster controller and have other Heljan locos that run without any issue. Did I read somewhere there are issues with this controller type and Heljan locos on anologue ? Any ideas of how to overcome would be welcome.
  5. Picked up 26008 brand new from Heljan at Model Rail Scotland for £89.99 which wasn't to bad. All other 26's were going for same price.
  6. Thanks for the info which is helpful. The restructured site is a bit limited. Unless I'm mistaken the site I recall had photos of each loco by class, I think these are now accessed via Facebook .
  7. Back in the hobby after a good few years and when looking for loco pics I found the following site very useful 'http://www.martinbray-ukloco.com/27001-27212.htm . However it would seem this website is not supported any more (see below) Not Found, The requested URL /27001-27212.htm was not found on this server. Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request. I understand it may have moved to Facebook which I'm not interested in, any ideas if it can be accessed via internet/google. Regards
  8. Got a couple of Eastfield Class 27's with Westie on the side. Looking for another depot motif to stick on the side on another I have picked up and as yet have unsuccessfully searched the net for pics of a Class 27 with drop down cab windows, underside fuel and water tanks, plus the Inverness Stag logo on the bodyside. The only ones I can find have the sliding windows which are of no use, I know Heljan are launching 27029 but this has the underside water tank removed. Info on locos with either the yellow square with black stag or just the plain white stag would be appreciated. Even 'Haymarket Castle' ones are proving a bit elusive.
  9. Thanks for that, sounds good.
  10. I've two of the detailed Hornby Class 31's (working fans etc). One is factory weathered and complete but a very noisy and squeeky runner despite oiling/greasing. The other is a mazak chassis 'right off' but a very smooth and quite runner. I was thinking of a complete swop of motor and gears etc to give me hopefully a smooth running complete loco. I don't want to swop the bogie frames over since the ones on the good loco are factory weathered. Should also say I don't have great soldering skills therefore would like to avoid soldering wires etc if possible. Before I start ripping apart has anyone done a similiar complete swop, if so is it straightforward ? Regards
  11. Looking to change my round sprung buffers (OO guage) to oval sprung. I think these come included/built into the buffer beam itself and I don't see them listed as a spare item. Does anyone have a spare pair, or any idea where I can procure replacements whether it be Heljan . Regards
  12. Thanks to all for your assistance. It's just up to me to choose since it would appear the red plate had a short existence.
  13. Thats great to know, thanks for that, red on both sides I take it ? It would appear shortly after that they changed them to black as seen below. Picture below is 1992, approx 1 year after naming.
  14. Around 1991 26001 was painted into Engineers Dutch Livery and received 'Eastfield' nameplates. I've seen pics of the loco with a red background nameplate and also a black background one. Any ideas which one came first and why the change of colour, or was it a red plate on one side and black on the other ???
  15. Thnk you. Managed to pick one up, going to be greedy and look for another for double heading.
  16. Thanks everyone, managed to pick one up. I'm still on the lookout for another which I'll renumber and use for double heading. Again body only would suffice.
  17. Yes I just seen this after I place the advert. I'll watch and see how it goes.
  18. Looking for the above (either 26004 or 26008) preferrably boxed. Would consider a non runner with good condition body, or just the body itself.
  19. On the hunt for the above. I've noted 26004 (model 2653) and 26008 (model 2655) although not sure of their release dates. Are these both identical in terms of chassis and body, is one a later release, an upgraded version of the other. I thought at some time Heljan may have upgraded the chassis but not sure if any these ones were affected. Regards
  20. Thanks for reply. I tried Petes spares but out of stock, nothing listed at New Modellers that I could see.
  21. Probably covered at some other time therefore apologies. I have a Hornby Class 92 minus both pantographs and the white plastic 'wire/cable' on the roof. Unable to source the pantographs via Hornby or spares shops. Apart from buying a donor loco and stripping thus putting in the same postion as mine (no pans) any suggstions where I may source replacements ?
