  1. The Model Centre selling Bachmann Class 37 Large Logo 37558 Avro Vulcan XH558 Locomotive (split from presentation pack) for £139.96. 8 in stock.
  2. The Model Centre selling the loco (split from pack) for £139.99.
  3. Yes, on the trailing bogie mine has the long pin and clip with a pick up wire now soldered on, plus the extra wire but no additional bogie contact.
  4. Loco worked fine even on a nice slow speed. Should get better once wheels are cleaned and a light oil. Additional wire tied clear and secured. All sorted, thanks for the info.
  5. David, Thanks for that. Certainly on the trailing bogie no contacts visible for soldering a wire onto. I'll take the bottom of the bogie off and check if there are any additional contacts. I'll also see how it performs from one controller to another. Thanks
  6. I can't see anything, for example a copper contact where the wire would attach/solder to.
  7. Bought a nice secondhand Lima Class 31 for decent money but it wouldn't run. Body taken off and I discovered two long black wires were adrift. One I sussed out was for the clip that that goes onto the trailing bogie rod, soldered it on and the loco ran. The other ???? Since it was long I thought it may also go to the trailing bogie but where ??? Theres a hole on the chassis frame and thought it may go down there to the bogie but can't see where it would connect to. Any help appreciated.
  8. Hopefully the 122's will follow suit to the £79 mark.
  9. Somehow I've lost the plastic tray/sleeve from the up to date box of my Heljan Class 33 in 00 gauge, model number of the loco is 33371. I'm led to believe any tray/sleeve from the same box type of Class 26, 27 or 33 would also fit. Would anyone happen to have a spare ? Regards
  10. Thanks for that. Yes I have considered a Railroad model then bodyswop, keeping my eyes peeled for a cheapo coming up.
  11. I think I've just answered my own question. Managed to track down some pictures of the Lima and Railroad NON power bogies (via service sheet) and they are different. The Lima one has the brass metal retaining pin that goes through the chassis frame and secured by a clip, this also acts as a pick up ?? The Railroad bogie has a split plastic affair that looks like it locks into the chassis frame when pushed into postion. Interesting to find out whether the power bogie frames are a straight swop, can't see any pics on web at the moment.
  12. I've picked up a nice Lima Class 31 (Railfreight Coal) and going to have a first bash at detailing. Was contemplating pipes etc at one end therefore cutting off the chunky coupling. At the other end I would like to replace the coupling with an NEM style one. I was thinking of sourcing a Hornby Railroad non powered bogie frame with NEM coupling. Am I right in saying the Railroad version is basically the old Lima version, if so would this be a straight bogie swop ??? Thanks
  13. I went to the show on Sat for the first time but unfortunately was not in a position to buy the early bird ticket since it was a last minute decision to attend. I arrived about 0915 and as someone has already mentioned, once ticket purchased was herded and shouted into a corner to await the 0945 entry. Once in I managed to quickly get around some layouts and trade stands but within 30-40 mins there were loads of people coming in. I left at at 1230 since the place was now very busy and hot, there was a lot of jostling to get along one side of the arena where people were going in opposite directions down a narrow alley between exhibits/trade stands. I also found standing 3-4 deep trying to see exhibits or get to trade stands a bit unpleasant and not very enjoyable. I'm afraid I won't be back since I didn't find this relaxing or fun, I prefer the smaller exhibitions which obviously don't attract the big crowds. On a positive note the layouts I did see were were well presented and run, plenty of trade stands if you get to them and approachable people at the demos etc. Well done to all involved.
  14. Al, Very helpful information you have provided and as you say a minefield, a huge one at that. Regards
  15. Was going to get one of my Class 08's renumbered then noticed it only had one 'equipment box' on the left solebar where the one I was going portray had two. After a quick search on the internet it then became evident there are few variations, some had one box on one side and two on the other, others seemed to have two each side and some even had three. Anyone any idea if these details are per a particular numbering/batch sequence. Was it after some mods', airbrake and or electric fuel pump addition ????? Thought this was going to be pretty straightforward but obviously not. Any info appreciated.
  16. No issues with seperating the body from the chassis. Body removed, just trying to get the cab out from inside the body to 'plant' some traincrew..
  17. Trying to remove the cab from the body of my Heljan Class 47 but both ends are tight/stuck solid, doesn't want to move in any direction. Tried to remove the brittle light bar to give me some 'wiggle' room but a small piece of the bar broke straight off therefore stopped that. Before I get heavy handed anyone any idea if the cab is glued in position or just an extremely tight fit. Regards
  18. It's the frame that most things (bogies, motor etc) attaches to. Will try to descibe better, where the front two screws go through the bottom of chassis frame and screw into the body, it's this part of the frame that's broken completey off hence need a replacement frame. Hope this makes sense. Regards
  19. Hi James, tried to use website to get a quote but for some reason the message will not send.

    Here was my message.

Wondering if you can give a quote for a light/medium weathering to a OO guage Heljan Class 26 in Trainload Coal Livery. Trying capture to coal/dirty effect.

Detail pack (pipes/ploughs) also to be fitted to one end only.

  20. Looking for a Bachmann Loco body, Class 37239 in Trainload Coal Livery. Would also consider complete loco if price is right. Cheers
  21. Has anyone got a Bachmann Class 37 (21 Pin) 'Chassis Frame' for sale. A complete non running or stripped chassis would also suffice since it's only the frame I'm after. I've tried Bachmann spares with no luck.
  22. The metal parts are fine, it's basically the plastic side pieces at the buffer end that's suffered the damage (in pieces). Rather than try and repair which may lose what strength it has I thought about just fitting a new chassis if I can get one. Have spoken with Bachmann spares dept, their not sure if they have one, awaiting their phone call back.
  23. I've got a badly damaged Bachmann Class 37 (21 Pin) CHASSIS FRAME, everything else is fine. Wondering how easy it would be to swop everything over onto a replacement frame, any soldering etc (not my strong point) or difficulties I could encounter. Regards
