  1. As hard to believe as it is, unfortunately, I am. @McC was clearly having an off day. None of the current releases have cold start (the 3 so far) all of which are refurbs.
  2. Its refurbished based on the release. Remember, no cold start on the refurb - wheel slip only. On the original, no wheel slip but there is cold start.
  3. That was stressful and fiddly. @McC the manual to the install of these bits doesn’t work nor does the QR code. I did laugh at the place holder text left on the manual “URLADDRESSHERE” oopsie. Trial and error and right order and its done.
  4. @McC @Accurascale Fran all this talk of Kickplates made me check on mine and sadly, I have one missing from the loco. After scouring my floor and the boxes like a frantic hooligan, it is nowhere to be found. Its only the one too! Bloody annoying and I’ll be honest I hadn’t noticed - but now I have, i cannot unsee it. Is this something that Support could provide me with rather than send the whole loco back as I have just started installing the fiddly detail kit 😩
  5. Mine arrived and its mega - love it. The Wheel slip actually sounds really good too. But blimey, I would of loved the cold start, I am not going to lie. especially when we have like 10,000 options for horns… Don’t get me wrong, my 4 year old will love the 10,000 horn options on his iPad (Z21) but I’d kill for a cold start! Maybe I am in the minority. Everything else is mega though, so I will get over it. and the accurascale out of the box 1mph crawl, as always, is astounding. I’m intrigued - do you guys pre-run in motors? Why can you get it right and no-one else can?!? 9.5/10 from me - Cold start would of made it 11/10 😉
  6. That comment also confused me, as all 3 of these are refurbs, with the cut away front and buffer detail and half height grills. So based on that, @McC must have got it reversed and I assume that means NONE of these releases have the cold start, with the first ones being the next batch and Scottish 37s. That is somewhat disappointing and I appeal to AS to ensure the Cold Start and Slipping are both in future runs, rather than one or the other. i still find that decision baffling and hopefully Fran and Co can shed some light on it. Still, its a super model and I cannot wait.
  7. rainbow are fab - their courier choice, at least in my area, not so much. So if it is APC Overnight I pray for you. They prioritise business addresses, so if theres the slightest hold up they won’t be kind and update the status to explain, instead just leave it as out for delivery. on the rare occassion that has happened with DPD, they upgraded me to be first on the round on the following day - APC, delivered 2 days later at 16:58 and the driver told me I was Lucky to get it as 2 minutes later he wouldn’t have dropped it…. so yea, i pray for you 😂
  8. Firstly, Thank you for replying. I am a big Accurascale fan, but this decision seems odd to me. One does not outweigh the other (non-refurbished locos had cold starts, refurbished locos still got wheelslip). The design choice is so unusually out of place, I have to assume this was some sort of technical limitation rather than an actual choice - lack of space for sound files, lack of access to cold starting locos of different states etc ? Although you don’t have to explain, I’m intrigued to know why - as I say, my only logical explanation is that its a technical one. and even then, it had to be specific, because - until ModelU start making miniatures that can open cab doors and when Accurascale start making then open, i’d much rather the choice of having iconic sounds for Cold starts and wheel slippage (both) than a door sound of it closing, without the door moving. The last part being in jest of course. But when you think of a 37 (to me at least) my first thought is of its cold starts. For a sound loco not to have it or have a choice between that and wheel Slipping, seems really odd to me. Sorry - not trying to be a negative nancy. As I say, I am a big AS fan - this choice just has me puzzled.
  9. I Assume someone has tried making F8 a toggle, then turned the Engine on - still no cold start? A 37 Cold start is a particular highlight, so I am certainly keen to get that working or understand how it works for when mine arrive. The lack of Official statement on it, is a little odd as @Accurascale Fran and @McC are usually on the ball. So this has me slightly worried its either missing or they don’t know why its not working!
  10. There is a cold start function - but seeminly it isn’t working (as reported by some) - as well as some other functions not being where the card states they are! seen a fair few sound videos now, but not one featuring the cold start. So my assumption is, something isn’t right somewhere in the CVs. just wondered if someone had got to the bottom of it. Mine are due tomorrow
  11. @Accurascale Fran @McC any comments on the cold start seemingly not working? Has anyone managed to get it working? Also Fran, found the next Limited Edition for you guys and Run 3 - thanks 😂 cheers
  12. These were in stock again a short while ago, so naturally I had to grab! (sound fitted) look forward to receiving Spirit of the Lakes! it was fate too, as I didn’t have access to my emails, but something told me to check the page and there it was, calling me! hope others managed to grab one too! And the scary part? i am now only £250 away from Silver loyalty! That happened fast! 😂
  13. The defo sounds like a blown speaker to me at first glance. maybe they need to be taken down a notch to 128.
  14. there will be some logic or CV changes I expect, just sadly they didn’t have a decoder ready to go. case in point - the new Graham Farish Class 60 requires you to edit CVs when you install a DCC decoder to get the lights to work properly when going from DC to DCC. that very much seems to be a case here. the fact you have the lights working on one decoder that someone else doesn’t on another - sounds like accurascale need to release a CV sheet. maybe someone from Accurascale can comment on what decoder they used during testing to confirm it all worked - at the very least that gives an option for people to compare CVs to or potentially buy whilst they work on a specific decoder release.
  15. Well define a small business or manufacturer - are you using team size as the metric or volume of sales? if anything Accurascale is actually an optimum type of business. In fact, its actually an Old school or super modern (based on trends come and go around) what I mean by that is - Modt businesses now are weighed down by heavy middle management with ridiculous job titles, on far too much money adding to overheads. Its spread like a plague among businesses now which are too top heavy. Accurascale has: - solid financial backing by parties who actually love railways - a core team who are enthusiastic about what they do without seemingly a massive management tier structure - instead, values its people. - Is a passion project above outright profit margins (obviously a business that doesn’t make profit isn’t a business!) I used to work in a company of 10 who manufactured consumer electronic products in a different hobby sector. We made over £10 million profit in year 2. As long as AS maintains its streamlined team, laser focus and doesn’t forget its reasons for existing it will always be a small business - just an extremely successful small business. in terms of its “small” being defined by product range or manufacturing capability, we passed that long ago. and with hall effect sensors coming in the 37s and later, they are also pioneering now too. A small business with a cult following is agile and extremely dangerous to competitors. The other plus is you also get the most out of your people too - as its not just work, its family.
  16. Highly unlikely. With revolution due to do the Electrostar in N gauge and the fact they have recently scaled all of their N gauge releases up to OO gauge, it will be revolution who make it. And sadly its some time off. However, i’d like to see more multiple units by Accurascale. imagine a cult classic - the Plastic pig. I salivate at the prospect!
  17. Its sadly very expensive here and the HO range (it was for the US market) is lacking compared to N gauge. if the HO range had as much options, it is by far the best “train set” or put away track on the market.
  18. Hi @Accurascale Fran Just to be clear, I won’t divulge in the public forum - but my issue was not with the fact of the limit. On the contrary, I have no issue with it, more how it was relayed (only here) and seemingly, my experience with the site. It seems I stumbled inadvertently on a bug / unforseen scenario which I have since explained to @McCand @Roy Langridgein a PM. That explains some of the frustration from me, as my checkout process was a fringe case. I couldn’t understand why my experience was different to that of others but have since worked out what it was. it has been highlighted so that it can hopefully be avoided in the future. cheers,
  19. Roy - just sent you a private message as I have just realised why we were getting our wires crossed. hopefully will make more sense. cheers,
  20. I have not - no. But even if mine aren’t, it may not be fair for someone else who legitimately wanted more or was buying for a friend, club member - or as per your example, a family member. To be honest my idea was a band aid and not a fix to the problem presented with limiting sales. Our wires seem to be crossed - not sure if its my eye fatigue from bloody being on that site all day so I have lost the ability to think straight. My idea was solely an idea. to simplify things. 1. happy with 1 per customer but make it clear from day 1 and on the product page. 2. keep it open by all means as people who really want them, like I did, went to a monumental effort to get hold of them. That suits me fine though! 3. the club idea was just a suggestion. Was far from perfect and not fleshed out. it also depends on what you are limiting products for? As you rightly mentioned - limited editions are limited, so makes sense to limit. the TPE sets were not limited - so why were they retrospectively limited to begin with? the idea is flawed - it was just a potential concept to help flesh out an actual void in the market for the older generation and website accessibility. but again, it was just an idea - and as with all ideas, there are drawbacks.
  21. I was referring to your example? I tidied up my reply to you, apologies. if something is advertised as limited to 1 per customer - thats all good. this wasn’t. So it is incorrect to enforce it post event, when time is already invested. So yes, you proved my point. Another example: You purchase 3 flights to Orlando, FL. You get to check-in, only to be told that you only got 1 ticket, because the flight was in high demand. They told you it was only 1 per customer on a holidaying forum. However, they let you purchase the tickets, pay for the tickets etc. its the same difference. had you of known when buying the ticket it was only 1 per person, you’d be fine with it - correct? because you either would of only purchased if for you, encouraged your family to try and get one etc etc. —————— Just to be clear, i take issue with the retrospectiveness of the action. I have no issue with you. my mere suggestion was to help do things fairly. whether or not I get the items I ordered or not is almost irrelevant. what is most important to me, is that things are clear. cheers,
  22. 3 reasons. 1.it was known well in advanced and well documented that it was a limit of 1 per customer in your example. There is no advertisement of that being the case - in fact, the Accurascale site as it stands actively encourages re-orders. If Accurascale had advertised this as 1 per customer from the off, made it clear on the page, not allowed me to order etc - that is an altogether different story. i also wouldn’t have offered to do it or wasted countless hours. 2. The item is an exclusive. As stated, a lot of older chaps will not buy until they see the product. I assume this wagon was purchase able elsewhere or was it a website exclusive in your example. 3. This product was never a limited edition, nor was stated so. It was a general release. You do raise a good point however. I am merely offering suggestions for legitimate multiple purchases. But at the very least, even if it is 1 per customer, that is also fine. but make that clear from the off, advertise it and make it clear and don’t let me multiple purchase. equally - don’t suddenly enforce it after only stating it in an online forum after I have spent multiple hours across multiple days waiting to purchase them. if it was clear from the off - we wouldn’t be having this discussion now, I wouldn’t have offered to do it and I wouldn’t have wasted hours. and just to be clear - i haven’t ordered 5000 sets here. i have just ordered one pair for me and 1 pair for the club member. Just seems a vocal minority have been heard - and sadly, a handful of opportunists, as always, ruin it for everyone. Also - just for the record. Product came in stock at 19:02hrs and didn’t go out of stock until 25 minutes later. So they weren’t gone in 5 minutes. and it looked like 30 of each set went up. I only know that as I have spent about 3 hours on the site since 17:00hrs. I then had to try and work out what @McC would class as “evening” - with it being 18:30 or 19:00 as my hunch, but had to account for they went for an “Early” lunch release not 13:00. as you can see - this has been a full scale operation for me! Haha!
  23. It would need to be verified in some form - hence the £15 fee covers the staff admin costs of a verification check. Not sure how you would implement it - its just a brain storming moment on how to appease all.
