  1. In my experience a suitable primer is essential to give a neutral base as the base colour can affect the appearance of the top coat. In your case, a green topcoat requires a grey primer - Halfords acrylic primer is good for this. Take a look at Railmatch acrylics for the correct shades. You may want to lightly sand away any existing printed 'transfers' as the paint used by manufacturers can react adversely. You may want to consider complete disassembly of the loco body's separate mouldings to avoid lots of unnecessary and tricky masking. And make sure the replacement transfers are available before you start.
  2. Five events (I won't call them races) into the season and I am proud to say that I've not bothered to watch any of them. For God's sake, give us some unpredictability.
  3. At launch, the recommendation was to disable the screen timeout function, primarily to ensure profile loading was uninterrupted. Not seen the issue you report as a result but when, on occasion, I have switched the tablet to standby without closing the app, it fires up as if nothing has happened when switched back on.
  4. Judging by the proliferation of charity shops across the Medway Towns, yes she failed. In fact they are mainly the only shops still open.
  5. JV and Marko would not allow equal equipment. Four races in and I've not watched any of them (including 'highlights') - first time for 60+ years
  6. Likely to be oil contamination. Wipe off with soft dry tissue.
  7. Possibly not without damaging the decoder. There is a list of compatible and approved power supplies on the Hornby Forum. Any other supply could easily risk permanent damage to the decoder.
  8. I can't comment on the failure to cure although your supposition regarding mixing may be a factor. The flat surface failure could be down to insufficient supports causing that layer to fail and peel away. All layers after that one will have nothing to stick to. They will still print but will be stuck to the bottom of the resin reservoir. Follow your printers cleaning instructions to get rid of that or your next print could crack the LCD screen.
  9. Not as simple as that. The TTS profiles on the app are not sound files,, they are the profile maps to allow the correct function buttons to show on screen when running a TTS decoder via the dongle.
  10. Not yet, but the team have indicated that they know how to do it but it needs some development time (and money) before they can offer it.
  11. I have both the M8 and M10 - I consider both to be very good tablets, particularly at the current price. Initially I used the M8 but found the screen too small for old eyes and fat fingers so upgraded to the M10 which works perfectly as my dedicated DCC controller for the app. Having said that, a glitch appeared with the latest app update on the profiles page. Initially I worried that it was the tablet but the fault has been found and replicated on a number of other makes and is now under investigation. Likely something do with differences between the many versions of Android. Yours certainly sounds like dodgy hardware rather than anything to do with the app.
  12. There is a list of current profiles and ones under development for future release on the Hornby forum. Neither of your must haves are on the list.
  13. This function will not be available at the time of release but maybe added later.
