  1. I think you just answered your own question.
  2. In my experience a suitable primer is essential to give a neutral base as the base colour can affect the appearance of the top coat. In your case, a green topcoat requires a grey primer - Halfords acrylic primer is good for this. Take a look at Railmatch acrylics for the correct shades. You may want to lightly sand away any existing printed 'transfers' as the paint used by manufacturers can react adversely. You may want to consider complete disassembly of the loco body's separate mouldings to avoid lots of unnecessary and tricky masking. And make sure the replacement transfers are available before you start.
  3. Five events (I won't call them races) into the season and I am proud to say that I've not bothered to watch any of them. For God's sake, give us some unpredictability.
  4. At launch, the recommendation was to disable the screen timeout function, primarily to ensure profile loading was uninterrupted. Not seen the issue you report as a result but when, on occasion, I have switched the tablet to standby without closing the app, it fires up as if nothing has happened when switched back on.
  5. Judging by the proliferation of charity shops across the Medway Towns, yes she failed. In fact they are mainly the only shops still open.
  6. JV and Marko would not allow equal equipment. Four races in and I've not watched any of them (including 'highlights') - first time for 60+ years
  7. Likely to be oil contamination. Wipe off with soft dry tissue.
  8. Possibly not without damaging the decoder. There is a list of compatible and approved power supplies on the Hornby Forum. Any other supply could easily risk permanent damage to the decoder.
  9. I can't comment on the failure to cure although your supposition regarding mixing may be a factor. The flat surface failure could be down to insufficient supports causing that layer to fail and peel away. All layers after that one will have nothing to stick to. They will still print but will be stuck to the bottom of the resin reservoir. Follow your printers cleaning instructions to get rid of that or your next print could crack the LCD screen.
  10. Not as simple as that. The TTS profiles on the app are not sound files,, they are the profile maps to allow the correct function buttons to show on screen when running a TTS decoder via the dongle.
  11. Not yet, but the team have indicated that they know how to do it but it needs some development time (and money) before they can offer it.
  12. I have both the M8 and M10 - I consider both to be very good tablets, particularly at the current price. Initially I used the M8 but found the screen too small for old eyes and fat fingers so upgraded to the M10 which works perfectly as my dedicated DCC controller for the app. Having said that, a glitch appeared with the latest app update on the profiles page. Initially I worried that it was the tablet but the fault has been found and replicated on a number of other makes and is now under investigation. Likely something do with differences between the many versions of Android. Yours certainly sounds like dodgy hardware rather than anything to do with the app.
  13. There is a list of current profiles and ones under development for future release on the Hornby forum. Neither of your must haves are on the list.
  14. This function will not be available at the time of release but maybe added later.
  15. Sorry for the delay - been away for a few days. If you have two locos on track with the same DCC address then the DCC signal produced by the controller via the dongle will send both off at the same time.
  16. The dongle will communicate with any legacy decoder that has been assigned to it. Yours will already be there if you have assigned them at home. You can assign a friend's loco to your dongle at the club and control it from the app. You can leave it on your app in an inactive state until the next club night.
  17. Yes, it is designed to allow exactly that. Your locos are assigned to the dongle within the app. Plug that dongle into any Elite and your tablet will use your dongle to control your locos on somebody else’s Elite.
  18. Lewis has made no secret of his desire to race for Ferrari at some point in his career. He knows exactly what Mercedes have to offer over the next couple of years but with a new car for ‘24 development will be needed to get it performing well. He also knows that Ferrari were the closest challenger to RB and are probably well placed to challenge in the short term. He won’t be doing it for the money and really has nothing to prove but there is a chance to take the challenge to RB and maybe win in a red car. It’s an opportunity worth taking..
  19. I would suggest that anyone interested should read the full judgement from F1. It’s a damning inditement of Andretti’s attitude and understanding of the technical challenge. I’m with F1 on this one.
  20. How about ‘ RBcheatclones’
  21. Four examples from Barcelona, Silverstone, Portimao - all avoiding the fencing.
  22. And that sums up the problem with street circuits - extremely limited views at very high prices. Virtually anywhere you stand, you will be stuck behind fencing and maybe able to see 50m either side of your position. I find a similar thing with Silverstone - unless you have sold a kidney for a grandstand seat, the fencing is very intrusive. Contrast that with Barcelona, Jerez, Portimao and Brands Hatch for example.
  23. True. I’ve just repaired the same fault on both ends of a 122.
