  1. Are these DCC ready? Would love to be able to control the lighting and central locking indicators from my controller like you can with their DBSOs 😜
  2. Just picked mine up from Invicta in Sidcup - I know it was cheaper elswhere but there's nothing better than supporting your local shop and being able to drool over a load of stock in real life. 🤤 One seemingly odd "quirk" of it is that the driving carriage as removeable couplers whereas the non-driving one doesn't, it just has the original Lima large tension lock coupler, meaning I've no other choice but to have a tension lock coupling between carriages making it look well out of place with the rest of the layout. What on earth were Hornby thinking doing that???
  3. Was there a few weeks back. Nice and airy space and whilst I’m not interested in 0 gauge (at the moment) he did have a good collection of pre-owned 00 gauge stuff that he’d taken in as trade in. I saw a couple of things I wanted but didn’t buy. Having though about it I called back to see whether the owner would post them out if I paid over the phone but unfortunately not 😕
  4. Hi All. I've just signed up as I'm getting back into the hobby after about 35 years away. As part of that, I've bought the EWS livery DB 66 for my new layout and was looking at getting a sound chip for it. I've currently got a Hornby 50 with the HM7000 chip in and another with the Howes sound file on a chip. Both files are great and sound broadly similar to each other. As I've now got the 66 I was looking for some advice to see people's opinion on the HM7000 for a 66 compared to some of the specialist chips. I like the potential flexibility of deciding to sell a loco and move the chip to a new one with sound. What are people's thoughts on the above? Is the dedicated chip better than the one that covers a wider range of locos? I also have a 47/0 that I'd be looking for sound on too.
