There is Portchester castle at the north of Portsmouth harbour. http://www.castleuk.net/castle_lists_south/196/portchestercastle.htm

Don't worry, when it wears down a bit it will fit better.

Well, the design so far. Just rough, going for the GER 1865 look, with the 4 out of 5 bricks on the corners protruding. Will add more detail when building. Comments welcome.

Next up, planning to start the Goods Shed. Just got some laser cut windows ordered, so now trying to design a suitable size building. (from ScaleModelScenery.co.uk) Going to base the measurements for the rest on an old Prototype Models LNER goods shed I found laying around (think that was based on Little Bytham) Will but up a few ideas when I've finished Sketching them up.

Wasn't totally happy with the original model in half relief so decided to add some ends by making a mould of the (opposite) end and taking a couple of plaster casts from that. Trimmed and glued, and then painted to match. Added a new roof to the office section, and plonked back on! Also added an stage/platform to front. Think that is an improvement.

I think I can see the Shard from my house

The bit as you come off the A23 and head down towards the K2 sports centre. Quite a good view north from there. Top of the Shard is just over a 1000ft. -

May be a bit late, but I've used a product to do roads/surfaces that is really good. It's a textured sand paste. Think polyfilla with grit! By DecoArt Media from Hobby craft. Photo below shows a sample i've just out down, so still a bit wet!. Edit to add :- Also got a slightly course version. Two part concrete textured paint. -
Have a look here :- http://www.norfolkstainedglass.co.uk/east_harling/home.shtm and here :- http://www.tournorfolk.co.uk/stainedglass.html

It's now January! And a little bit of progress has been achieved over the Christmas period. I'll post some pictures later. I've modified the small warehouse by changing from 1/2 relief to more of a 3/4 relief version. Viewing the end never quite looked right, looks much better now.

If you want painted churches, go no further than a local one to me, Sistine Chapel English Martyrs and http://www.sistinechapeluk.co.uk/

May be a bit late, but have you seen these church windows from York Model Making?

Extract from Jan 1899 edition of "The Land Magazine" Last year a similar society was formed in England, but confining its attention to poultry, called the National Poultry Organisation Society, under the Presidency of the Viscountess Cranborne. The objects of these two bodies are to help producers to find a market for their eggs and poultry, and to organise local combination, which will stimulate and direct the trade. Also found this in an article, "There was also advice on offer from agricultural colleges, expert salesmen, and, as in America, in 1910 in south Wales, a ‘poultry demonstration train’, in this case run by The Agricultural Organisation Society and Edward Brown’s National Poultry Organisation Society" The first Fast Food outlet!

https://norfolk.spydus.co.uk/cgi-bin/spydus.exe/MSGTRN/PICNOR/HOME?HOMEPRMS=NORPICPARAMS Been looking on the Norfolk Picture Library site again! Entered a search for "railway" and a date of "< 1930" and came up with 116 images. #61 is of the 12th Lancers boarding a train for training before going out to the front 1914. #65 is Stoke Ferry, railway station and National Poultry Organization Society premises. The NPOS are using a grounded coach as their premises at the station. #108 is Norwich, Thorpe Station, Norfolk Regiment boarding. Worth looking if you've got the time!

Also came across these grounded coaches on the Kings-Lynn forum site (lots of other Dock/Railway images as well) www.kingslynn-forums.co.uk (near end of page)
