  1. Just finished reading this book and thought I'd see if any one else has read it. "The Locomotive Pioneers, Early Steam Locomotive Development. 1801-1851" by Anthony Burton. A very informative read.
  2. This one popped up on the BBC website http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/video_and_audio/headlines/43753329/lucky-escape-felixstowe-rail-crossing-driver-jailed
  3. Just wondering if you would be able to see the remains of the demolished houses interior decor on the now external end wall. See part way down this link. https://rbkclocalstudies.wordpress.com/tag/rillington-place/ And would the old fire places still be seen, although could be rendered/bricked over. Edit added this link http://www.exetermemories.co.uk/em/articles/blitzhouse.jpg
  4. Also you can this I image of a dual gauge turntable at Swindon. https://goo.gl/images/rSKn7v Edit :- not sure what I was trying to say there!! Think it was "Also came across this image of a dual gauge turntable at Swindon"
  5. Whilst looking at wagon turntables, I found this, suitable for CA? http://www.hattons.co.uk/211063/Faller_120276_LN_Small_Wagon_Turntable_with_Servo_Pre_owned_Like_new/StockDetail.aspx Edit : Just noticed the size 110 dia, so a bit small!

  7. A bit in the future for CA, (1928), but a Hundred of Manhood & Select Tramway film. https://player.bfi.org.uk/free/film/watch-the-selsey-tramway-1928-online
  8. Guess we could all get a job as politicians. They won't do themselves out of a job. Although I haven't seen C3P0 recently, do any of the current lot look like him?
  9. Well if you want Arundel, and the local parish church
  10. Some more photos in my gallery page here on RMWeb. http://www.rmweb.co.uk/community/index.php?/gallery/album/3915-north-norfolk/ Did a photo tour for Edwardian and his Castle Aching layout whilst working(!) in the area.
  11. Another small round tower church at Shereford, just west of Fakenham. St Nicholas
  12. Could use a similar bridge as per the Hayling Island railway https://goo.gl/images/4gfHjc https://www.portsmouth.co.uk/heritage/puffing-along-across-the-bridge-to-hayling-island-1-2389907
  13. Similar here, came into this world in 1964, started work in 1980, currently made it to 53yrs old! So 17 years for me when JM stopped being PM.
  14. Did have a cranked axle. From Graces Guide https://gracesguide.co.uk/Timothy_Hackworth:_Globe
  15. Thought we would have had more snow photo's recently! Waiting at the Crossing gates Looks cold on that platform
  16. 3 ply or 5 ply? By the sounds of it Edwardian's going for glulam beams. (https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Glued_laminated_timber) Just remember, the more layers you add, the stronger it gets.
  17. Think this Karma fella is on your side. 1. You're getting new gates at no cost to you, but to your landlord. 2. Dogs have been exercised. 3. Potential for old gates to become donor materials for future CA updates. 4. If not 3, then firewood for the next cold spell! Think, Silver linings and clouds.
  18. Karma has a way of sorting out those little problems that happen!
  19. How about modelling a lead/copper style roof, with vertical seams from microstrip? http://www.leadingleadworkservices.com/products.html
