    Does the total of addresses include the legacy ones controlled by the dongle and those by bluetooth, or are they counted separately so you have 1-59(127) legacy and Bluetooth or is it 1-59(127) legacy plus whatever the Bluetooth limit is?

    That to me is the biggest flaw and what ultimately restricts the system Hornby's inability to recognise the existing ecosystem. What if someone wished to upgrade from and older system with a fleet of already fitted locos?

    I can see that sort of a "dumb terminal" not too dissimilar to be rail master base unit.

    So what's the best/cost effective "upgrade" path for a dongle? I've got a tail master kicking about but it doesn"t work with that (no port, even though the website says it's rail master compatible). Trawling ebay for a select or elite??

    Really surprised there isn't a HST train set, that's been a Hornby staple for almost 50 years, 2 powers 2 then later 1 coach. I woukd have thought everyone who wants a NE Pacific pretty much has one now!

    On the simplest level lock the pre release thread on release day, maybe a day or twos grace to let people finish discussions? It might naturally conclude once the 'ownership' thread starts, at the very least you woukdn't have to take a guess at what page to start at if you wanted to read what the loco was actually like..

    On this being a monster thread, I still think there should be a 'pre release froth thread' which generates significant traffic pouring over cads engineering samples etc., which pretty much becomes irrelevant and a 'post release' thread, for when the locos are actually in everyone's sweaty paws and the merits/demerits/issues can be discussed.

    From memory in the modern image section there's a lot of 'In British Railways Avanti/'EWS/etc livery' which ok is technically right..

    The big question with the dongle, will we get an officam acknknowledgement compatibility or will Hornby only guarantee compatibility with select and elite?
