Two more finished and running. One based on a real HYA and one fictitious. Next ones should be VTG blue repaints. -

Here's another HYA I've been working on over several evenings this week using photos from Flickr. Final coat of weathering once fully dry. -

The sets provided by Jo are of a high quality and are easily fixed with mircoset/sol. Great depth of colour in the printing too. I did end up pulling a bit back off with some tape a week and a bit after (I thought) the final glosscote had set, but that's a me problem rather than the product and I think I've hidden it well enough. Great to have a Garfield too as that goes past my house nearly every day. Other sides left blank for graffiti free running too. -
Thank you. If you know this one, is it the basic, the 21 MTC or the NEM660 please? I think after speaking to a shop this morning that it depends on how the loco is wired?

If anyone has one yet, what DCC chip is recommended for the DCC ready versions please?

A lighter weathering this time, focussing on the bogies, underframe, grills and the roof / bonnets. Side ploughs and dellner coupling fitted, as well as the headboard. -
60065 could be a great one in it's current form. Still running and just about clinging on to its EWS colours albeit with DB branding.

Some 608 in stock at derails if anyone's looking (4 as I type) -

608 has one in the detail pack. Think it's just the /9 ROG that would require tooling variation. -

I know weathering isn't to every ones taste and this may offend some, but I've spent several hours over the past few evenings making 609 a little more realistic looking, in my eyes at least, for a DRS workhorse. This involved an airbrush and some tamiya weathering powders. The most dramatic part was probably fully repainting the roof with weathered black to remove all that shine. Just as a note for anyone who's attempting this, the finishing coat over the decals is very thin on this 37/6 batch (or at least on the two I have), and is penetrated much faster than that on the 37/4 I recently did. -

There are a few pics from it's early ROG days back in 2017 like this (not mine). But then the front end isn't as currently modelled with the two connectors. -

Looking through flickr, 610 did actually have the middle section fitted around Feb/March 2019. Think this was just after repaint into current livery. -

Very nice. Currently fitting mine. Have gone for the full plough on 609 but wanted the dellner on 608. Did initially fit it as the loco is now, but the pipes looked really precarious dangling there without any protection, so I've gone with the side ploughs and the dellner, like it was around 2018-2021 (from memory). Always think they look tons better with the plough anyway, and quite naked without it. EDIT due to brainfart and wrong years -

608, 609 and 97301 available on accurascale website right now. Tempted by the 97, but two loco's in one week is enough now. -

Tell you what, I'm properly impressed with the application of livery on both 608 and 609. It really shows what can be done. Blooming beautiful models. -

608 on its way from Bure Valley and 609 from TMC. Going to be like Christmas Day tomorrow or Wednesday 😃 -

Bure Valley Models seem to have 608 and 609 in stock too. I've got a preorder elsewhere for 609, but just paid for 608 with them as was struggling to find one. -

Hard to tell without looking straight on to it, but I'd say that the window frames look too small in general. On the original they extend down to the orange stripe and there is also very little gap between the frames.
