  1. Callum that is a really nice display stand you have there, have a great time.
  2. This is turning to be a nice little cakebox layout, great photos of the area you are capturing in your model. The plaster bandage has gone on really well.
  3. Luke you have produced another lovely little layout. Very nice scenery work.
  4. Great progress on your cakebox layout, I think you have captured the back scene really well and everything blends in. Nice purchase at £20 for the Plasser unit.
  5. Afternoon fellow members, while I wait for my plinth to arrive I thought I would make a start on some of the railway items to make some of my diorama. The walls have been cut to size, painted and weathered. The small ventilated van I had lying around has been painted and weathered. The track I will be using has been weathered ready. The L&BR open wagon arrived today
  6. Nice work on the garage, I do like those colours your garage is painted in.
  7. Yes small Christmas lights from the pound shop are great for lighting little layouts.
  8. Hi I have moved this to the cakebox section as this will be my entry into the cakebox challenge Rd 4. The build will be based on coal delivery as the railway played a big part. I will be using a Peco 009 L&BR open wagon. I hope to include a small coal staithe with workers, the rest of this small diorama will have some ground cover in the form of grass and ballast. There will also be some discarded Lineside items for those smaller details. The plinth I am using for this diorama is made from Oak and will measure 101.6mm x 101.6mm which I have used before in a previous build. I know it’s small but as long as it fits into a cakebox.
  9. Nice work on your cakebox layout.
  10. Evening Lachute my buffer stop turned out well, cheap and easy to make. Thanks for sharing this. BTW I’m liking your layout plans.
  11. Marly51 thanks for sharing this video, it’s amazing how many steam locomotives where due to be scrapped.
  12. The track I have used is Peco 100 code with every other sleepers taken out. Hope this helps Pierluk.

    Snow

A nice piece of footage of a typical winter on the railways.
  14. A most enjoyable program, it’s nice not having a presenter joining in the action. The sleepers removal and signal box men with points was in-depth but good.

Thanks for the heads up, will be watching with a nice cuppa.
  16. Hi Pierluk thank you for your kind words, I am really pleased how the buffer has worked out. I still need to add some chains to emulate the buffers are tied to the tracks.
  17. A few more pictures of the fisheries wagon on the diorama, I’m thinking of weathering up my wagon as there would have been rust evident in the real world.
  18. Hi my diorama is starting to take shape nicely. The grass work has been completed and a few wild flowers have already sprouted through. The buffer on the rail needs the chains adding and I need to add one or two line side rubbish items. I hope you like my progress.
  19. A nice start HonestTom! I must buy one of those crates.
  20. Hi I am looking to build a small tabletop layout, the baseboard size is 18”x7” and can be stored safely in a box. I don’t mind which scale as it’s a new venture for me. Feel free to help my with ideas on layouts I can build.
  21. Looks good. These 3D printers are definitely they way forward in the modelling world.
  22. Nice work, I to have used this method of buffer stop which I really like.
  23. My diorama is progressing nicely, the sandy ballast has now been glued in place. A railway sleeper along the edge of track is in place and the sleeper buffer stop is glued ready to add some chains. The area to be grassed at the back of the diorama has had some paper mache laid, this will be painted a brown earthy colour and then static grass and flowers will be added. Here is a picture of my work.
  24. Luke you are not hanging around with this layout build, nice work.
