  1. Good to hear someone is having better luck than I. Of the two I ordered, 1 has been replaced twice and the other needs to go back but I won’t be requesting a replacement. If I can get 1 decent version I’ll draw a line under it. Hopefully Accurascale will build a 9f at some point!
  2. I certainly felt that was the case with my pair of Deltics. If only to bring it back down to match the level of everything else with the wick turned up to 11!
  3. I’ve had a pretty good run. Over the a little over 20 loco’s I’ve had in the last 3 years my return rate is slightly below 10%. 👍
  4. The 9F that was delivered to me a few days ago has tender pickups - sadly not on every axle. Not a particularly great runner either. I’ll let the supplier have another go and I’ll try again with another example.
  5. Similarly, I have a Bachmann centre headcode 37 on order alongside 3 A/S 37’s from batch 3 and 4. You can’t order something that isn’t offered for sale. When A/S get around to the centre headcode models, great I’ll pick up a few. In the meanwhile Bachmann can fill the gap. The worst case scenario is I’ve got 2 surplus Bachmann 37’s further down the line. Who’s going to complain about an extra couple of 37’s knocking around? Not I! 😜 -Sloth.
  6. If this were a Rolex forum, you’d be traced to the AD you were buying from by the parent company and barred from future purchases for uttering something like that! I suspect the R2R model rail community isn’t quite as heavily “policed”, though! 🤣 Or is it? 🤔 -Sloth.
  7. 100% agreed, which was why I was very careful in the way I worded my post on the matter. Things can go wrong with computer systems and it would be easy to assume that, having pinged money off into the ether months or even years ago that when folk are receiving things having only parted with the beer tokens 48 hours ago that your (significantly earlier) order might have slipped through the cracks? It isn’t “panic” as some would suggest, just a desire that you don’t miss out on a high-demand product through a (potential) admin error. Incidentally, mine have now arrived and look superb. I’m both very impressed and satisfied. The one criticism I would offer that, in reality, isn’t really a criticism at all; this is the only Accurascale product that I have purchased that won’t go around R1 curves out of the box. Yes, I know they don’t advertise them as suitable as such hence why this isn’t a criticism in the true sense of the word, but I do like to test everything. Plenty of us are still silly enough to use R1 for “off scene” sections of trackwork. Even the big lump that is their deltic will go around R1 slowly. Not the siphons though. Best guess? Whilst the ones I have will physically roll around the curve, brake rodding touches wheel sets and creates a short. To reiterate and for the sake of clarity, this isn’t a whinge on my part. “Product doesn’t do something it wasn’t designed to do” is not a legitimate gripe. 👍 Cheers, Sloth.
  8. Presumably, the green versions are in production now? 👍
  9. Similarly, that was the conclusion that I had come to. 👍 Thanks for that - appreciated! 👍
  10. At the risk of coming across as impatient, has everyone received an “we’re sending you your shiny new thing(s)” email yet? I ordered / paid in either December or January for a couple of maroon siphons and haven’t had any notifications or update thus far on the order portal. If you’re still working through the list, then apologies for the distraction! 👍🏻 best regards, Jon M.
  11. It’s something you can do over time. Half of my stuff is on kaydee’s the other half is small D ring tension locks. Whilst it’d be nice for everything to be able to work with everything else, as I have a tail chaser, I get around it by simply splitting the stock into up line and down line. Another way of tackling it is to close couple the connections within rakes and have standard tension locks on the two outer most pieces of stock if you prefer to run fixed rakes. Regards, Sloth.
  12. What? No tiny newspapers inside and the odd mouse modeled??? Standards are slipping! 🤪
  13. With round two now hitting peoples door steps, do we have any news on the likely time scale(s) for rounds 3 and 4? TIA. Sloth.
  14. Why would it need to run anywhere to charge the capacitor? Surely if it’s sat on the layout on live track it will charge. I can’t see a reason why it would need to move to charge.
  15. Some valid points, but the market will bear what the market will bear. I’m not entirely sure the implication that I or others in my position deserve the label of “fool” for simply being prepared to seek out and pay whatever the going rate might be for the best product available out there? That does seem slightly unfair. Certainly in the case of A/S locos, if we are going to get into the question of price point they are pitched very competitively given the recent uplift in value of Deltics on the grey market? In the grand scheme of things, this is fundamentally a cheap hobby. An obscenely large purchase within the model rail fraternity of say 20 sound loco’s @RRP still only just about equates to the cost of something mundane like a cam belt service on an F355 at Ferrari. What’s the other cliche? “Swings and roundabouts” I think… ?👍
  16. Yes, whilst that is true, at the risk of sounding a little crass, it isn't the 'have-nots' who drive the market. 👍
  17. FWIW, as a multiple repeat customer, If you do offer working fans in later batches I’ll be ordering more models despite an inevitable price increase. As far as I’m concerned, if you want nice things in life, you have to be prepared to put your hand in your pocket. As such, I’m (somewhat fortuitously) very much in the camp of happy to pay whatever the going rate is for multiple examples of the best that is on offer as it seems are many others on here.
  18. Surely, the ubiquitous 20T Brake van has to be a contender soon-ish? You can never have too many of those! Cheers,
  19. Pre tops in blue for me! Also made the mistake of mooching around the rest of the website had a F*** it moment on something else. 🤣 I did wonder if the “so and so just bought x” banners were real people. Presumably there’s some extra charge / ransom button somewhere that hides the evidence that I missed? 😜 cheers, Jon.
  20. 100%. I took the view that it was probably best to order a couple of each and worry about it later. 😜 I’m not sure it’s possible to have too many 37’s, given their seemingly ubiquitous nature!
  21. 100% If it comes in a red and yellow box, I’m just not interested. I’ve ordered a pair of 9F’s. Not entirely sure what I’m going to do with another pair of 9F’s but that’s another thread!
