  1. 00 scale, all glazing complete, needs more detail adding. I have had enough of locos and wagons. All going into a box and move on to something else. Lesson learnt finish models once printed and then it does not become a chore.
  2. Excellent weathering job, and clever designs! That Kitson well tank in particular is a gem. Thanks Nyeti but not sure which loco that is? I just troll the net looking for locos I like the look of and then design my interpretation of it. I don't try to do an exact copy because the rivet counters would be pulling me up.😉😉
  3. Thanks Kevin, I have a bundle of stuff to weather and was not sure if I was on the right track.
  4. Before and after, I don't do pristine. my style is Used and worked hard. Too much??
  5. Nice one Keith, never noticed that before. Default face in MakeHuman and as I model in 00 scale you be hard pushed to see too much face detail. If I was going larger scale I might give him a smiley face or not as I am lazy!! Any Thunderbird modellers out there??
  6. Needed some train crew. MakeHuman/Blender and a little bit of work. Job done.

  8. Harry, I am not sure how this can be done. I only started the project because someone dissed my walls as to flat. After I proved it can be done I have not done anymore with the technique. Perhaps after I have finished the 101 jobs still to be done I will revisit the technique. Eddy
  9. Barclay, that old Hornby chassis is brand new and has a lovely new motor, the ones BMW use for there wing mirrors 😉 The speed of that loco is step 5 so I could slow it down to a realistic speed but it just looks to slow. All still in testing so anything still goes. Eddy
  10. Finally got round to making a video of a prototype canal boat moving on my layout. I am nearly happy with the way it runs; I think it just needs a final tweak. Magnet size plays a big role so does the amount of weight needed to dampen the ride. Any suggestions to smooth the ride, much appreciated. If I have not tried them, I will give them a go. Proper boats and loads to design and print next, easy job as I know what I am doing (hopefully). Eddy Watch on YouTube
  11. Made a couple of videos on how I made the sliding fiddle yard used in Essex Brick. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WwLVgIkABQ4
  12. Testing my Sliding Fiddle Yard (SFY). The principle works but needs lots of refinement before I am happy. Video on my channel here.
  13. I have been working on my locos to all run on the same dummy chassis. Will make my life easier with any new designs. Printed on a Mars 2 in 00 scale.

  15. I have 3d printed all my chassis that's why I have covers over the wheels. I have 3 types of wagon/loco. Box wagon which holds the motor and weight. Some of the larger locos can hold the motor and the weight, Box wagon which holds the decoder and stay alive. Dummy chassis which just have a weight and any body I want to plonk on top. So each train must have a minimum motor and decoder/stay alive wagon/loco. All the bodies will be interchangeable so trains can be made in various styles to suit. I will get around to posting some chassis pics.
  16. Straight of the printer with a quick blow over of primer hence a few bits of supports in pics. Designed in SketchUp and printed on a Mars 2, 00 Scale, Length 78 mm. This is the longest I want to go due to the tight turns on my layout. This is a loose interpretation of the loco below. Eddy.

  18. Inspired by local to me, Corringham Light Railway, now closed down. Designed in SketchUp Make 2017 and printed on a Mars2. OO Scale, Length 46mm, Width 26mm, Height 39mm. Running on a dummy chassis.
  19. Jon, find a cad program that suits you and don't be swayed by people that tell you Fusion 360 is the only program that does decent models because it is not true. If you follow any of my videos 99% is freeware so if you don't get on with it, nothing lost. Everything is a learning curve its just how much time you want to spent learning. Any questions ask away. 20. This is just a proof of concept. The head and torso are also movable. Both legs are hollow so a couple of thin wires could be routed up a leg to give the figure the option of a lamp. Any pose is doable and you could have them holding or moving any object of your choice. That's the joy of 3d printing, you are in control of what ends up on your layout. https://youtube.com/channel/UCn2oLJrPsTWksH5S2Qy2N7g
  21. Mk2 of an attempt to animate 00/HO figures and yes I know it has 2 Right arms :D :D All 3d printed. Video here on my channel. This is just a proof of concept.
