  1. As a past member of the ATC, whilst at camp the air experience flight was in a Herc ( C-130 ) and it has the dubious distinction of being the only aircraft I have ever felt sick in, never enjoyed that flight.
  2. The bridge is still there if you care to visit the Castlefield area of Manchester complete with the canals below. Are the canals below going to me modelled as well? Manchester has improved over the years and with the full sized preserved not far away a visit is recommended ( East Lancashire Railway (Bury)), and if you time it right why not visit the annual model show.

Think the following taken from the web site might answer the above. MODEL RAIL SUBSCRIBERS The price shown on this product is the standard price. To obtain your subscriber discount you must enter your subscriber number in the customer message field when placing your order. We will manually verify this and apply the discount when processing your order. The subscription must be current at the time we send the order.
  4. Strange about the route quoted as all the work is being along Ashton New Road which is nowhere near Guide Bridge.Rails are being laid and lots of congestion, traffic lights and blocked junctions alon the route. Take it from me it is being built knowhere near any heavy rail line, in fact the last point it is near any heavy rail is when it is under Piccadilly Station. Unfortunatly Google earth doesn't show the work on the route

Did one ever find its way into LMS/Midland/LM region if so think I might be tempted.
  6. 60 084 at Cheadle,Stockport this afternoon on a stone working from Peak Forest
  7. Its going to be expensive between now and mid 2011 with whats due out. Ordered D5705 green small yellow ends will look good amongst my other North West based stock. All that is needed now is the LMS twins in their final livery of green 10000 plain ends and 10001 with small yellow panels, (the only one of the two to get warning panels). Also how about a Peak district layout, an excuse for a Blue Pullman as well

    Heljan class 17

Just a thought anybody thought of doing one like in the pics I took early 70's
  9. Just a few pics that I took on the Woodhead Route before closure and as the lifting trains were in action Dinting Viaduct Peak on a Sunday St Pancras-Piccadilly diversion at Torside Torside with lifting train in attendance
  10. Wonder if they will have lighting in the passenger compartment and directional lighting. Also were will the DCC socket be? and how accessable will it be.
  11. Goin to be interesting, have considered using the track plan for Clevedon as a basis for a layout myself. look forward to seeing more
  12. What was the Hornby R No for it,might be an idea if I can find one
  13. well they could do releasing another one
  14. Could do with the Hornby 50 being release in its original form ie. D400 - D449 in original blue as they used to operate north of of Crewe (double headed) and on the Manchester/Liverpool- Glasgow/Edinburgh service, the later operating as two trains between Preston-Manchester/Liverpool and Carstairs- Glasgow/Edinburgh with a full dining service on the Manchester/Glasgow portion. How many remember that operation.

Looking to fit a decoder to 8612 and see that it is possible to remove the cab. Is this all that is needed to fit a decoder and if so are there any clips holding the cab on or how do you go about removing it as mentioned in the Heljan instructions or does one have to remove the whole body. Must admit it runs well and really like the low top speed.
  16. Just seen the RRP for the Baby Deltic, not baby in price think will have to have a rethink. Just wonder what price the Railbus's will be when they get here and if they will have interior lighting ?
  17. A simple conversion really. Just don't be alarmed if the colour if the wires are not as expected. Its even more ineresting when all the wires are black... As in the current release of the 121 by Hornby, even though it is DCC ready, but not for lighting, the board provided does at least have soldering points when you work out which relates the relevant colour wire and yes it is possible to wire it up so thatyou can use male/female plugs incase you have to remove the body if youve fitted compartment lighting.
  18. interesting, wonder if you are going to include the Station Hotel and the Coal Yard as it is today
